Crispy Clubs Gunerius — Restaurant in Oslo

Situated in a charming network of shops and restaurants off a side street in Oslo, this fried chicken joint serves up truly epic wings and burgers.

I went for the "Burger Menu" with garlic parmesan sauce and my travelling companion opted for the 6 pc "Wing Menu" with buffalo hot sauce. Both came with fries and a drink for 239 / 199 kr respectively.

The burger was phenomenal. Nice brioche buns were toasted just right and the crispy chicken strips were nestled on a delicious bed of coleslaw. And, of course, slathered in that creamy garlic parmesan sauce. All the ingredients were very fresh and flavourful, the chicken was deliciously fried and crispy on the outside without verging into "greaseball" territory like many other fried chicken places end up doing.

The chicken itself was cooked to perfection, biting into it the juices ran freely and clearly, and the strips included some tender dark meat, which was a welcome inclusion. The flavour was immense, and the garlic parmesan sealed the deal with a creamy, yet subtly tangy complimentary mouthfeel to the crispy, crunchy, juicy chicken.

The fries, while not the star of the show, were still very nicely done. Crispy, fluffy, and coated in something similar to cajun seasoning. They weren't overflavoured or oversalted, but just right.

This was an easy FIVE STARS.

Fresh chicken, breaded german style, taking influence from Asia, UK and U.S. makes this one of the best places to enjoy chicken in Oslo.

Sauces most likely done from scratch. Truffle mayonnaise not overpowering. Honey-sweet Korean option. Parmesan one excellent as well. Clubs well prepared, not greasy.

UK-style Chicken burger shines, I personally like to drown it in even more sauce. But i think they want to keep it light, which is something not many chicken shacks can pull off well, but they do. Usually, i feel like taking a nap after a fried chicken romp - not here! :p

The chicken burgers were not very flavourful. 4 burgers exactly the same, basically coleslaw and the fried chicken just the sauce is different, and the sauces weren't enough specially the buffalo burger (sauce need to be thicker and more flavourful). Fries were tasty. Sauces were blunt and lacking the kick. Resturant has no toilet. Overall overpriced for the burger size and flavors. Wish burgers had more ingredients. I Don't see a reason why I would come back hopefully in the future they sort their issues...
