As long as the vile waitress is working here, avoid this place like the plague. She is disrespectful, condescending, rude, and arrogant.

If you’re brown/Muslim, you won’t feel comfortable here, because we really didn’t even though every white person seemed to have a good time.

Our waitress had black hair and looked late 30s. There was a lot of space in the restaurant, lots of tables for 2, but we were seated right beside the toilet.

We were in outdoor gear as we’d just come back from a whale tour, so it took a few minutes to get ourselves sitting down. I went to use the restroom and came back. We were sat for 30 seconds before the waitress came to ask- “have you decided yet?” Like we were wasting her time. I said we need longer to decide, so her response was “do you not even know what drinks you’re getting?”, we flicked through our menus in front of her before realising that we hadn’t been given a drinks menu. So I said “could we please have a drinks menu?”. She stifled an exasperated sigh, like we were wasting her time, and brought the drinks menus. Water, we decided.

My wifes vegetarian, and both of us are Muslim, meaning we don’t consume alcohol. I’d assume in 2023 people would know that. We don’t make it an issue when we go out, we just ask for our dishes to be made without meat or without alcohol.

So the waitress came to take our order and my wife asked whether there’s any veggie options(there were none). The waitress, in a huff, said either margherita pizza or pasta al pesto without chicken. She went on to explain that cheese + tomato pizza is veggie, and she went on to explain that removing the chicken from a dish will make it veggie. You know, because we’re five years old.

She was rushing us along, it was awful being served by her, everything we said seemed to be a chore.

I asked whether pasta pesto contains alcohol. Her response was the second most repugnant, rude, condescending thing I was to hear that evening; “the alcohol burns off whilst it’s cooking so there’s no alcohol in it”. I asked “could they make it without using alcohol?”, the response: “when you heat the alcohol, it burns off, so there isn’t any alcohol in it.” I had to bite my tongue because I found that response to be disgustingly ignorant.

I’m not at your Italian restaurant for a chemistry lesson. I’m here to eat a meal. If I asked for a dish which contained almonds to be made without almonds, the response would either be “sure!”. The response this woman gave me was disgusting and disrespectful, it sickened me that she is clearly islamophobic or just plain ignorant.

We ordered pizzas in a rush because we were taking up so much of her precious time. My wife asked for sliced tomatoes on top, the waitress replied “cherry tomatoes?”. My wife said “just tomato slices on top please”. Again she said “okay cherry tomatoes.”

As we were waiting, other guests arrived. Funnily enough, they all were seated in nicer spots away from toilets. They all got water for the table without asking.

She brought the pizzas. Mine was sliced, my wife’s was not. On top of my wife’s pizza were halved cherry tomatoes just thrown on without care.

My wife tried to slice her pizza with the cutlery on the table, but couldn’t. I asked the waitress if she could take my hers away to slice it, and she said “do you want a sharper knife or something?”. I said no, I pointed to her pizza which was crumpled because my wife was struggling, and said she’s finding it hard, could you please slice it?

The woman: “well it’s not sliced because technically real Italian pizza should not be sliced, in Italy they don’t slice it”.

My response, though I’ve been to Naples and eaten sliced pizza there, was “well why is my pizza sliced and not hers?” And she said “Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t!” . I left it there because I was very angry.

We just took our food home because this woman really knew how to destroy a really wonderful evening.

Sono venuto a Tromsø da solo per vedere il mio sogno dell'aurora boreale. Tutti sono così gentili, Tromsø è così bella, le persone sono così amichevoli, educate e disponibili, finché non incontri la donna scortese nel tuo ristorante. Purtroppo Tromsø rimarrà l’unico brutto ricordo nei miei ricordi. Stavo cercando un ristorante che avesse nel menu il cibo che volevo mangiare. Ho guardato il menù all'ingresso e non c'era sul menù e l'ho ringraziato. Ho chiesto se c'era un posto che potevano consigliare. In realtà, quello che volevo mangiare era molto semplice. Un po' di vino e carne di cervo. Lo chef e il gentile gentiluomo all'ingresso hanno fatto del loro meglio per me e, dopo la loro guida, sono andato di sopra. La donna che avrebbe dovuto indirizzarmi al tavolo al piano di sopra non stava facendo il suo lavoro, quindi ho trovato un tavolo e mi sono seduto. (non era un posto dove aspettare in piedi) Dopo molto tempo (abbastanza per togliermi le cose e sedermi) (dopo molto tempo) venne da me come un preside di scuola e disse che doveva cambiarmi il banco. Questo lo avevo capito ma forse era occupato e per questo non mi ha indirizzato in tempo. Anche se il mio inglese era pessimo, ho detto educatamente: "Non ho una prenotazione, ovviamente va bene". Sono andato al mio nuovo tavolo, dove sono stato bruscamente indirizzato, e ho aspettato circa 20 minuti, credo. C'era un problema e, anche se non ne era consapevole, me lo rifletteva con cattiva energia. Più tardi, rimasi molto turbato dal suo comportamento e dal suo atteggiamento inquietanti e privi di significato. Dopo avermi fatto aspettare a lungo, mi spiegò il suo problema. In effetti, è stato lui stesso a creare il problema. Con l'attenzione e l'invito calorosi di chi ama il suo lavoro, sono andato di sopra a cenare. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ma mi ha lasciato in una situazione difficile. Ho mantenuto la mia gentilezza per preservare la mia energia. Volevo ignorarlo. Non posso prendere sul serio le persone che commettono tali errori comportamentali. Vista questa situazione avrei potuto scegliere dal menù, ma ero così a disagio che ho voluto subito cercare un altro posto. Poi ho detto che non volevo mangiare niente e mi sono alzato. 1.) Quando salivo le scale non c'era nessuno che mi salutasse o mi guidasse. 2.) C'era una donna scortese che non era educata e si comportava come se gestisse una scuola. 3.) Dopo avermi fatto aspettare per 20 minuti, mi ha spiegato il problema... È molto triste vedere qualcuno che non ha ricevuto una formazione sull'etichetta in un posto come questo. Vivo a Napoli, Italia. Sono un turista che cerca di mangiare cibo norvegese in Norvegia :) Non sono riuscito a trovare un ristorante adatto. Ho chiesto un consiglio sul luogo per questo e mi hanno detto che potevano cucinare per me. Ecco perché mi sono seduto. Riesco a comprendere il problema di comunicazione tra il sistema e lo staff. Ordinerei un piatto diverso dal menù, ma mi prendo cura di me stessa e guardo alle mie energie. Ecco perché non ho accettato il servizio di una persona ignorante e senza istruzione. È un peccato che qualcuno che è insoddisfatto della propria vita, ha problemi sul lavoro e non riceve un'adeguata formazione comportamentale gli rubi mezz'ora della sua giornata. Grazie ancora a questi due uomini gentili. Hanno fatto quello che dovrebbero fare un uomo d'affari e una persona gentile, ma la donna era ignorante. Spero che risolva i tuoi problemi perché i clienti non sono responsabili dei tuoi problemi...

First of all we came here a week before and it was delicious. Very good service, food and atmosphere, therefore we came back on our last day again.

This time, Sunday 23 March, we arrive around 9.30 Pm, 14 empty tables in the restaurant and we got offered one of the tables right next to the bar. After asking if there isn't any other option they replied no. We ordered the food and asked another waitress if there is really no option, as it ess nearly 10 pm and still half empty. This time we could move without hussle, but waited 13min for the drinks until I interrupted the "busy" staff watching their phones. Finally the food got served or better thrown on the table without "enjoy" or anything. Things can happen and I have an understanding for it as I myself lesd a hotel restaurant, but when I see unmotivated staff just wanting to finish their shift, not.

Further when telling on of the tree ladies the happening while paying she directly lied in my face telling me we got offered other options.
