Pretty disappointing dinner. Aloo Tikki was way too salty, and the butter chicken tasted more like curry. Naan was ok, but nothing special. The place was quite smelly when we entered and apparently the kitchen has no ventilation, meaning once they start cooking the whole place and your clothes start smelling. Service was unfriendly and even rude on two occasions. It might have been a good place a few years ago, but it looked run-down. Definitely visited way better Indian restaurant around the world. Also prices were on the higher side.
Edit after the business reply:
Dear Roy and INDIA Indian Cuisine team,
by all my respect and understanding that a truthful review can also hurt. I just shared my experience while visiting your restaurant. Is it a sugarcoated positive one, no, does it reflect what was personally experienced, yes. You clearly have good reviews and it seems that many other guests had an amazing time, unfortunately I didn't.
Your reply . . . basically is the definition on how to not reply. You just underlined my review. It is exactly the opposite of what a polite and customer focused business would have replied to.
I will keep my three stars and I am wishing you the best of luck...
Read moreStay far, far away from this place. As an Indian, when I eat at Indian restaurants I know it’ll likely not be an authentic representation of Indian food and that never bothers me. However, what does is compromising on the quality of ingredients.
When we got our food and started eating, the chicken tasted funky but we decided to continue eating it, thinking maybe that is how Indian chicken is cooked in Arequipa. My friend group of 11 ate here and all of us got severe food poisoning after this to the point where I’ve had to use the restroom every 30 minutes for the last 12 hours.
The quality of the food wasn’t even the half of it though. The owner opened late, as is stated in several other reviews, and we waited three hours for our food.
I feel horrible writing this review because the owner seems like a very nice person that means well but I don’t want others to live through the same experience. Stay away from this restaurant with a ten foot pole if you don’t want ruin your...
Read moreI debated about this one. Indian food is one of my favorites. Friendly English speaking couple. Ordered butter chicken and mango Lassi. They didn't have Naan as they supposedly didn't have a tandoori oven. With the Indian community in lima, they should be able to source one. They didn't have basmatti rice. I had basmatti rice in lima so I'm sure it's available. The butter chicken was made from scratch but the finished product was average. Mango Lassi was nicely done. Should I be giving them 4 stars, no more like 2. I hope they take thier business more serious like having someone outside thier business bringing in customers because I would like what appears to be the only Indian resteraunt in arequipa to regain that 2016 TripAdvisor recommended...
