Been here twice. Both times extremely unfriendly baristas, one was a guy and an other girl. Both spoke very good English and so I was excited about talking to them about coffee and what they are doing at this cafe/roaster. Unfortunately that was not the case. They were extremely unfriendly and and unhappy to talk about coffee especially when i asked them some questions.

Perhaps, the unfriendliness is due to snobbishness that comes from thinking they know something about coffee and asking them questions, they feel challenged. They tried hard to present themselves as people who understand coffee. As a coffee lover, roaster and a business owner I would have appreciated some dialogue as I am always trying to learn something new.

BTW, in light of the effort they seem to be putting forth to source their coffee from different regions in Peru, the brewing needs some work to truly bring out all the highlights of each regional beans. I had the pour over with Gesha beans and was the most expensive coffee that this cafe offered. Unfortunately, the coffee needed to be better dialed in sort of speak as only thing that I tasted was sourness. Just my two cents...

Will be looking for offer coffee places in Lima next...

Superb coffee shop / chocolate store combo with passionate and knowledgeable owners. Great Peruvian coffees from different regions - Cajamarca, Cusco and Chanchamayo that I can remember. Lovely light -medium roast, very appropriate for local coffees, and the end product is wonderfully frutal but not acidic, very balanced , highlighting the flavor of Peruvian coffees. Loved the interior design, colorful and modern. There's a bit more seating than it appears at first, with a couple of back rooms and a small interior patio. They also sell a selection of great local chocolates upstairs and offer tastings and parings, will have to try them soon! Fun experience and a wonderful product,...

You might think, oh just another overpriced hipster coffee shop. And while it may cater to the hipster constituency, Ciclos is the real deal. Incredible coffee drinks and extremely knowledgeable staff make this an experiential coffee destination. Ordered the golden nitro coffee drink which was unique and delicious (wife said this may be the best coffee drink she’s ever had, which says a lot - it was so good!), and a v60 brewed pot which was great. Also serve postres and snacks. The staff are coffee experts, and while we sat here we saw several tour groups come through; touristy, but this place really knows their stuff. Hands down best coffee shop we visited...

Found this on google reviews amidst the many cafes in barranco. It looks simple from the outside but there’s lots of spaces inside. Carefully curated corners just like their 100% locally sourced coffee, I always just order plain black coffee to taste and a piece of pastry. It’s true that their cacao brownie, which uses Peruvian cacao is top notch. Super yummy and I’m not even a brownie person! Service is also great, the girl at the counter was attentive and patient the moment we walked in and switched to English. A different barista will tell a bit of story about the coffee and the brownie when they serve it to your table. Love it!
