This restaurant was an exceptional experience. There was not one aspect about my visit here that was less than absolutely superb.
Let's start with the food. I ordered a mixed ceviche with mixed chicharrón, my partner got the fish ceviche with arroz con mariscos. The food was fresh and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a delight. We also had an opportunity to enjoy some courtesy samples, all of which were delicious.
The service rivaled anything I've seen in fancy restaurants anywhere in the world. We were primarily attended to by Fernando, who took time to explain some the origins of the dishes offered, and answered every question we had in a thoughtful, friendly way. He even went out of his way to teach me about the "aguaymanto" fruit which I was completely unfamiliar with before today. You could tell he either has been well-trained in hospitality or is one of those rare individuals that just has a natural passion for enhancing a dining experience. Another team member, Ever, would also occasionally check on our table. It was nice to see that level of teamwork.
The locale is tastefully decorated and welcoming. It is a space you can enjoy your meal surrounded by an ambiance that fits the type of food served.
I've seen many 4.9 star places and I've many places with hundreds of reviews. What I very rarely see are 4.9 stars AND hundreds of reviews for the same place. This location deserves every bit of the praise it gets from fellow reviewers. Make it a must on your next...

From the moment you step in the door you're greeted with friendly service and complimentary appetisers and sometimes little shot of drinks in addition to the complimentary appetisers. Their seafood dishes are a must try in my opinion. Fresh, well marinated and flavourful without it being overpowering.
The highlights must try : bonito fish (taretare style) topped with avocados and Peru mangoes served with croutons for that extra crunch Shrimp bisque risotto - A classic with a Peruvian twist (amazing) Fish soup - deceivingly simple looking bit packed of clean rich flavours that you could keep drinking without feeling heavy Civeche (slice or cubed) - personally I like thin slice like sashimi! But the dice option really gives you that nice chewy kick.
These are just my personal highlight dishes, in my opinion you really can't go wrong with any of the seafood dishes ordered here. I came back here multiple times during my visit to Lima (pretty much every meal) trying various items on the menu and there was not one item that disappointed (even the dessert).
This is a must go place if you are ever in Lima. The restaurant is a rare trinity combination of - great service, great food, great price.

We went to their newer location on Calle Berlin and enjoyed eating on the outdoor patio. Both locations were near our hotel, and I had made a reservation online in advance, it's very easy to do so on their website.
Our servers, Karli and Camila, were both attentive and friendly. They also were very careful to let me know that one of the dishes, Arroz con Mariscos, contained a seafood I'm allergic to and provided a helpful recommendation for what to try instead. My boyfriend did order the Arroz con Mariscos though and he liked it!
I loved that the menu offered a Pick Two option, so we got to try more of the dishes, and (of course) get a Pisco Sour! We ate: Ceviche - fresh raw fish and seafood marinated in lime juice, onions, spices and chili Arroz con Mariscos - rice covered with zesty tomato and seafood infused creamed sauce A seafood sampler our kind waitresses surprised us with as appetizers! Ceviche & Chicharrón of mixed fish and calamari Suspiro Limeño - a creamy, caramel-like pudding topped with a flavored meringue
I would definitely recommend Barra Maretazo as a stop for lunch or dinner if you're...
