The Merienda Cena is a must-try. Its one of the best food venture I've ever experience. Its feels so casual, and it also feels so upscale despite the fact that your only menu consists mostly of local Filipino kakanins. Regarding Manuel's, the restaurant is well organized, and it also has a very calming ambiance, which is in contrast to the vibrant Escario Street which this place is overlooking to. I feel like the Merienda Cena experience compliments well with the actual restaurant itself. My only suggestion is if they can add more variety on their kakanins. Cebu has lots and lots of delicious kakanins like the maci of Liloan, torta of Argao, and pintos of Bogo that can truly be a remarkable addition.

Manuel‘s is one of the more group-friendly buffets in Cebu city. They had a fairly good range of food items during breakfast time. It was also spacious enough for diners. Service crew were also nice and on their toes during the breakfast operation. Receptionists, guards and other guests also showed friendly attitude towards customers. It would be nice to improve the quality of food items though. Put more local products like Danggit or Chorizo. Or even bacon. Ideally, it is better to put more aesthetically pleasing decor around the buffet area too.

Restaurant closes at 10pm. We expected not a full food buffet when arriving around 8.50pm. But when we got there there was only 1 plain rice. 4 types of food left. THERE WAS NO FOOD SELECTION! NO FOOD. NOT A FOOD BUFFET. We didn't expect it to be this little. We basically came in to finish off the leftovers to be thrown away. I expect more for a restaurant closing 1 hour before. We got charged full price for 4 people with little choice and offerings. They even charge a disgusting service charge. See bill. Expected abit more courtesy to the guest.

We reserved for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. When we arrived at 6:20pm, they were hacking up the barebone remains of a turkey and we figured ok, the next one will be coming up. Nope. They only cooked one turkey. ONE TURKEY for an advertised Thanksgiving meal!!! There were no mashed potatoes, no stuffing, no cranberry sauce, and now not even any turkey. I don’t have the words to describe how disappointed we were after looking forward to this little bit of home during our travels in the Philippines. Management really messed up with this one. The staff were all very friendly, the poor waiters were apologetic, even though it wasn’t their fault. The restaurant itself was very nice, the selection of foods was good, although many were not kept warm (think cold spaghetti, cold pizza, cold meat skewers…). I don’t know, I don’t honestly think we’d make any special trip...

Ive stayed at this hotel many times. In fact its my preferred hotel in Cebu.

The restaurant "Manuel's" however is not so good. Always cold food..nothing worse than having cold eggs and cold Bacon for breakfast.. I have given them several chances and every time cold.. so I started ordering off the menue rather than the buffet hoping I would get hot food... NOPE STILL COLD FOOD several times. Service is slow and have to ask for everything..fork, knife, service water. I give this two star restaurant only one star.

Stay at the Hotel they are excellent ..Skip the...
