Subject: Concern Regarding Long Waiting Time for Orders I understand that this might have been a one-time issue, but for the future, I hope your team can be more attentive in checking if all customers have been served. If one or two customers don't have any food in front of them while their peers do, it would be helpful if staff could show some concern about why that might be the case. Perhaps they haven't ordered, but more likely they have, considering that everyone else has already received their meals. I apologize if this comes across as petty, but if an order is going to take longer than expected, it would be appreciated if you could inform the customer in advance. Many restaurants let customers know if a particular dish will take 20 or 30 minutes to prepare, and they ask if the customer is okay with the wait. Based on my experience, I believe your establishment doesn't follow this practice. In my case, I ordered a Matcha Latte and a Korean Chicken Chop. The Matcha Latte was served promptly, which I understand since it's a drink and likely quicker to prepare—everyone else’s drinks were also served quickly. However, the Korean Chicken Chop was served much later. By the time I received my dish, all of my peers had almost finished eating. To add, two of us had ordered the same dish, but only one of us received it in a timely manner. Kindly reach out to me if you need the names of the two servers who assisted us. I’m not looking to shame anyone publicly, as I understand they may have been having an off day. But considering that your establishment’s food isn't cheap and includes a service charge, I feel it’s reasonable to expect that my meal should be served within a reasonable time frame. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I hope to be treated with the basic courtesy that all customers should receive. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Feel free to share your stories. Thank you. P.S. The original message was edited through Chatgpt. This version improves the flow and maintains a polite tone.

I'm a big fan of Coffee Academics, and regularly visited their coffee shops in Hong Kong and Singapore. Was very happy to find they've opened a branch in Manila, and happy to report that the coffee and brunch dishes are just as great as they were in other countries! This location itself is conveniently situated in the heart of Legazpi Village on Palanca Street, making it accessible by walking or biking if you live in Makati. They have great outdoor seating options on the patio for those who want to dine al fresco. I got the parmesan chicken with aglio olio pasta and an iced latte for lunch, and it hit the spot. The chicken was perfectly crispy with a bit of bite from the tomato sauce on the parmesan, and the pasta was done al dente. I also tried out my other friends' dishes. I enjoyed their local take on an eggs benedict, the eggs royale (poached egg on top of two bibingkas with tocino) - the bibingka was fluffy and freshly baked, and the tocino was tender and juicy. The Korean fried chicken with kimchi rice also had a similar super crispy texture but with a sweeter flavor profile. All in all a great brunch place with plenty of excellent food options and amazing coffee!

I finally tried coffee academics and it disappoint. It felt like it didn’t meet the standards as hongkong’s or even in thailand that i just tried before the lockdown. We wanted to do an outside seating but the staff said everything was reserved, even if no one arrived within the 20mins that we’re there. So we ended up doing takeout. Coffee was okay. Milky. Food was also okay, but the staff seems not to know how to explain when we asked about some of the food in the menu. We ended up getting something safe and didn’t explore about the unusuals. Pastries are the worst. We got 2, pain au chocolat and tapa puff. Both NOT recommended. Their pain au chocolat is more like a pandesal than a croissant. While the tapa puff’s sheets are TOO THICK! Super poor quality The pastry bag isn’t also grease-proof, you can see the grease coming out of the bag They also don’t have credit card payment option, so if you’re planning to visit them, make sure to bring cash! And their cashier doesn’t issue OR (official receipts) from their terminal. Maybe by request, but isn’t supposed to be OR for all customers?
