Had an early Father's Day lunch at Lunes Everyday Dining. This is located at 6060 Palma St in Poblacion, Makati very near the Ateneo Grad School in Rockwell.

It was our first time to dine here but it won't definitely be the last. We were impressed by the food we got to taste. True to their claim, they are elevating Filipino food with new eyes and a new flavor experience.

Lunes belongs to the Square One Hospitality Concepts of Jenny Yrasuegui. It also has Kosumosu, Dear Adam/Sweet Lucy, La Vie En Rose, Bad Habits and Spoon and Fork Catering under its wing.

We started off with Kalabasa Fritters (P180). Inspired by Okoy, it makes use of battered vegetable fritters spiked by sinamak vinegar.

We also tried their Pares-style Beef Cheeks Spring Rolls (P220). This I really liked. It had uber-tender braised beef cheeks wrapped and fried crisp a la spring roll and served with their house chili garlic.

For our mains, we had some of their best-sellers. Kare-kare (P720) nose-to-tail beef with separate peanut sauce that your server would slowly pour on the beef and tempura battered vegetables. It was creative and delicious! Pork Porchetta A la Binagoongan (P720), oven baked and fried Porchetta with grilled eggplant and bagoong. Another winner. One dish that I really enjoyed was their Chicken Piaparan (P590), a delicacy of Maranao which they elevated via a sous vide quarter leg chicken with coconut curry topped with fried garlic, shallots and cilantro. Then there was their Hamachi Collar (P690) which was grilled with miso glaze, shallots and fried garlic. Really yummy!

For drinks, we tried their Cafe Latte(P130), Coco Colada(P120), Sago't Gulaman (P95) and Pandan Iced Tea (P95). Great flavors, we'll...

The place is very cozy. Went here on a Sunday for breakfast and tried their Chicken Inasal (P350) and Chicken Piaparan (P590). For drinks, we tried Cappucino (P140) and their best seller, Cloud Americano (145). The food is overpriced. The chicken inasal is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but the taste? Not a good quality. Even the chicken doesn’t taste fresh. The texture feels like it has been in the storage for quite some time. It doesn’t taste like it was marinated. The skin has a little bit of taste but as you eat the meat, nothing. It doesn’t even come with a sauce to make up for the flavorlessness of the chicken. Personal opinion: Mang Inasal has a better-tasting inasal for a much lesser price. The Piaparan has an interesting taste but for a quarter chicken? Overpriced. The curry sauce tastes like pumpkin soup with curry powder + cocounut cream & ginger. The combination of taste and texture would’ve been good but it lacked the saltiness, kick, and umami. It is quite bland and not worth P590 at all. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind paying for the price but the quality and quantity doesn’t sit right. As for their coffee, they are quite on the budget-friendly side however, the espresso is too much. I love a good bitter coffee but theirs is all bitterness + water and lacks any goodness. Could it be because of the beans? The taste seems like old coffee beans. Overall, it was an unhappy and unsatisfying experience and I hope they do something about it. To set the price expectation, aside from the 12% VAT, there is also a 10%...

My friends and I recently enjoyed brunch at Lunes, and there’s a lot to appreciate about this place. First off, the service was exceptional—accommodating, friendly, and genuinely pleasing. I especially loved that they allow dogs inside the air-conditioned area, which is a big plus for pet owners like myself. Another commendable part of the experience was how responsive and accommodating their team was when I made a reservation online. They were quick to reply and polite, which made the whole process smooth and hassle-free.

However, there are a few aspects that I believe could be improved. While the dishes we tried were good, I found some of them to be quite expensive. The high pricing didn’t always seem justified by the taste or preparation of the food. Some dishes hit the mark, but others left me questioning the value for money.

Parking can be a challenge, especially during busy times, but I’d recommend visiting during non-peak hours to avoid any parking issues.

Overall, Lunes Everyday Dining offers a pleasant dining experience with great service and a pet-friendly atmosphere. Just be mindful of the pricing and parking situation when...

Great restaurant serving modern Filipino food, out the way and relaxed. Beef kare kare is great for sharing. The spring rolls were tasty and the ruffled pork fats were melt in the mouth crunchy and perfect.
