We started off with their chicken & ham and mushroom croquetas, charcuterie board, and Mediterranean salad. We also had chorizo criollo which I enjoyed because of the chimichurri sauce (spicy).
The cerdo (crispy pork belly with french beans paella) and risotto was aight but I preferred their pasta (vongole) better.
Their deep dish pizza was also good but won’t necessarily order it again as I prefer thin crust types of pizza and the less saucy side, which I understand is the complete opposite of a deep dish pizza.
By this time I was already feeling full also because of the complimentary bread and butter. Lol
Main course was the steak and I’m not really a steak aficionado so it was just as good as it can be, as I believe that you can never go wrong with red meat. There was this tomato “salad” which I forgot what it was called but it was also refreshing to eat.
By the way, I had a glass of their signature drink which was like a sangria but I forgot what they call it.
We capped it off with some desserts; berry cheesecake and tiramisu. Berry cheesecake was better over the tiramisu. But would ultimately skip these two as desserts as they were meh.
This was on a holiday so there weren’t a lot of people dining in. I think apart from us there were only 2 other groups, so it wasn’t packed at all. Service was great and were attentive. We were seated at this long table with couch on one side with a yellow wall of liquor and it’s perfect for a...
Read moreWent here via a recommendation. Modern concept with a touch of class. On a Thursday dinner, place was packed. Better reserve your table first. Marj was warm and hospitable. Service done by Brian and the other guy (forgot to check your name! - he was the one who handed over our tapaw/take away when we forgot and headed out) they were outstanding.. Lobster on a pasta, steak and ensalada were toothsome. Sangria was also delish. (Maybe there was no apple, but it is not an issue- probably the restaurant's originality. In addition, the winelist was exquisite for the steak..we couldn't order as my cousin need to drive. (If you want to taste it, should go by grab :)) The men in black as well were very attentive despite the full house! . Moreover the PAELLA was a house specialty but was not able to try due to dietary restrictions. Should try that the least! Will definitely go back once I am back in Philippines and hankering over Spanish cuisine.. This place is relatively new and situated just a few meters away from PSEI. (20 years over ago before I was working here, this building did not exist!!!). However the price is expensive- in comparison to a Singapore restaurant at Clarke Quay or Orchard. We did order the big steak so we expected that :)). No regrets though. Also toilet might get busy so prepare to wait as there is only one(sharing) very well kept and clean...
Read moreRumba is a great choice for date nights or special occasions, but there’s a caveat. My husband and I had Costillar de Cordero (grilled lamb rack) and Cerdo (crispy pork belly paella) - this was more than enough for two, and would be too much if we ordered appetizers. The lamb was amazing and now one of my favorite lamb dishes of all time! The paella was also delicious, but here’s the caveat - if you’re Filipino, they will prepare it without socarrat (the well done layer at the bottom of the pan). It’s weird to go to a supposedly authentic Spanish restaurant and get an incomplete paella, which was a pity because it was a good paella. We gave the manager our feedback, and apparently, a lot of their Filipinos customers complain that the paella is burnt or has “tutong.” So oddly, the decision was to prepare socarrat only for foreigners, and to Filipinos who specifically ask for it. We didn’t know we had to do that and they didn’t ask. For dessert, we had crepes suzette - light and just right after a heavy meal.
Overall, it was still a pleasant experience. The waiters and the manager were attentive, and took our feedback kindly. There’s definitely gonna be a next time for us and now we know how to get the best version of...
