I asked the waitress which meats were offered for the unlimited option and she answered "chicken, pork and beef", so I said, "okay, 2 beefs". While we were eating, we requested for 4 more servings, 3 cups of rice and bowl of lettuce. They said these were ala carte. We were puzzled why they changed the "unlimited" bundle but thought nothing of it. When the bill came, they billed everything individually and not as "unlimited". I asked them why we weren't charged this way and the waitress said I didn't choose the unli option and ordered the beef calbi instead. If that were the case, why would I have asked about the unli options in the first place? She misheard me and didn't think to apologize for serving us the wrong type of beef and billing us for it. The food was good, it's the staff that need to know how to listen to customers better and how to address issues like this appropriately.
Update: went back here with fam and friends. We were a group of 10 people and I was the only one who didn't want to avail of the unli meat. Staff told me to sit at a separate table because of this. Wasn't even told to sit at the end of the table so I could still eat with everyone else, they insisted I use a table all by myself. Everyone else got annoyed / upset for me so the staff had to discuss amongst themselves if they'll "allow" me to eat with my family. Such an annoying experience. Tbh, we keep going back here for the food, but the staff are consistently...
Read moreAte here with my friend last week. Parking is going to be easy if you pay someone to set you up for a space.
The place has the usual Izakaya feel you expect when you think of an Izakaya. It was not that busy when we visited so we got seated real quick.
We ordered a ton since we were both famished. We got some omakase kushiyaki which were pretty tasty, we just got it with salt since I'm no fan of teriyaki. The sushi and sashimi we got were tasty and good for the price. I got some Shrimp Tempura which tasted clean - the oil was fresh.
The Katsudon Donburi I got was still a tad too sweet for my liking but not bad if you compare it to the other Japanese restaurants that makes this dish unbearable in Manila, since they put way too much sugar. The meat has a slight toughness to it but not too hard that you need to chew cautiously.
I asked my friend about his Sukiyaki set and he said it was fine.
It's budget friendly and the serving is good. The taste is catered for Filipinos so those looking for authenticity better look somewhere else. There's no Japanese peeps when we ate there...mostly other Eastern Asians and Caucasians along with fellow Filipinos which says...
Read moreI told the waiter not to give me chicken but he said they have a standard initial serving. I asked “what if I don’t like it?” he said “Babayaran nyo na lang po yung leftover” (you’ll just pay for the leftover) So basically, they force customers to eat what they don’t like or have them pay for expected leftover which could be avoided. And then I asked for another lettuce and was told that only the first serving is included in the UNLIMITTED! They call it unlimitted but you’ll pay for extra lettuce! Not to mention I did not take the rice so they’ve saved some rice from me. I’ve been to over 10 unlimitted barbeque places here in Pinas, but first time to hear such a non-sense policy. The resto is also very hot with poor ventilation and the crews are unfriendly as if you hassle them everytime you raise your hand. Sometimes they’re all inside the kitchen or outside the store and you can’t find anyone if you need a refill. Take note as well that you pay more if you’re alone and there’s a service charge on top of it but they didn’t mention it. I only found at...
