I would rate this a 7.5/10.
The good:
location is excellent (you literally step out on the beach) When booking, you have the option to (not) include breakfast. If the markup for the breakfast is not too high, I would say go for it. When booking, we paid an additional 1 200 pesos to have breakfast for 2 persons for 4 days. That's fair. However, if your room does not include breakfast, don't pay for it ex-booking. That will cost you 1 200p per person per breakfast and that's not worth it. The breakfast is described as "buffet style". I guess that's theoretically correct, although it's a very small buffet with limited choices. The best part of the breakfast is that you can have it right next to/on the beach, with the view of the ocean. That's worth paying a few 100p per day for.
great service and helpful staff However, we didn't quite enjoy the fact that one of the staff is pitching his activities side hustle, when you sit down for breakfast, food or drinks. To be fair, he does have very good prices (100-200p below the cheapest we found). Some advice: just pitch the service during the welcome drink and then leave it to the guests to think about it and come to you if they want to book something (just like we did).
Free toiletries (which are replenished each time you ask housekeeping hint ;) )
You can borrow towels and mats for free at the lobby (for use on the beach or when doing activities).
The "so so":
rooms are spacious and clean, but they don't have a window/view (unless you book the suite) I don't consider a hole in the wall, looking out to a This isn't mentioned in the hotel description, nor is it obvious from the pictures (on the contrary). It should be clearly stated, to be fair.
Internet/wifi connection is appalling, especially in the evening peak hours. You can forget about streaming, file sharing or anything that requires (above) average bandwidth. Not only is the connection slow, it is also unstable. There will be frequent signal interruptions, so you expect website to load very slow and applications to buffer a lot. This is not a general feat of Boracay. There are ample places with a decent connection. Hence, the slow connection must be due to the hotel's internet service subscription. I would suggest them to pay for a faster connection.
Final conclusion: if you can get the (deluxe) twin/double room for 2 500 pesos or less, it's worth considering. But anything north of 2 500 pesos is too...
Read moreRoyal Park Hotel exceeded our expectations and made our family stay worthwhile. I booked them via Agoda with Agoda Cash discount 🤩 and here’s a quick link to their site for further reference.||||Overall Value for Money ❤️❤️❤️❤️💛||||Check-In: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️||||Their frozen iced tea was a great welcome treat for tourists coming from a long travel under the scorching heat of the sun. Check-in and room orientation was efficient. Kuya JR, thank you for that complete orientation!||||Room, Equipment, etc.: ❤️❤️❤️❤️💛||||We availed of the family deluxe room with queen twin beds good for 4 pax including a child. Room and bathroom was so spacious it can fit a family of more than 4. Bed and linens are spotless as well as towels. The hotel is old but well maintained. It was well equipped as well with working ACU, heater (for hot showers), bidet, kettle, ref and hair blower. I only wish there is a vault but overall the hotel is secured. WiFi is also available per room and is usually fast in the morning. Room bath towels were not allowed outside but they offer to lend you beach towels when you go to the shore or take a swim.||||Breakfast Buffet: ❤️❤️❤️❤️💛||||Our availed room comes with a breakfast buffet. They’re selection varies from regular meal (rice, sides and viand) with soup, pancake and bread with marmalade and butter, salad and drinks (coffee and iced tea). It is the best set you can get among the hotels in Station 1 at affordable rates.||||Location and Accessibility: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️||||Royal Park is the only hotel along Station 1 who has benches fronting the beach so I personally chose this for my parents and kid. You can choose to walk along the shoreline to get to d’mall or ride an e-trike. They have an entrance along the main road which can also get you to d’mall within 5 minutes. What we loved best is that it is far from the happy hour bars from Station 2 and a few meter-walk to Willy’s Rock (Boracay Station 1 famous landmark).||||Staff: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️||||Royal Park was one of the few friendly and accommodating staff I’ve ever encountered with for all my travels. My parents did not have a hard time talking to them and getting to know the place even better. Kuya King, thank you for all your insights and would surely love to try the boodle fight next time. Kuya Wals, thank you for that affordable island tour hopping and point to point transfer deals you have shared with us.||||We will be back and will surely choose Royal Park next time!||||Disclaimer: This is an overall personal evaluation of Royal Park Hotel and not in any way influenced...
Read moreIts an okay hotel. You get what you pay for, tho we payed extra, booking through agoda app, which showed one price for 12yo kid, then when we went to pay without doublechecking, it increased by 1/3 total, adding us an extra bed, even room we chose had an extra bed already.. Its some scammy flow in the app, so doublecheck before you book, apperently it doesnt show exact price, even if you put right parameters 2 adults, 1 12yo kid). Anyway. Service is good and friendly, that includes reception, bar, housekeeping, all. Kudos to them. Upon arrival you get a welcome drink and your room might be ready before 2pm if you come earlier, which is good. Room is good, spacious, clean and okay. Its not a 5 star hotel, its a beach resort so u'll mostly use it just to sleep and hang in front of the beach since they have beach chairs and a bar. Only flaw is AC. Its the usual box type AC which was too small for the room sized arround 30M², making AC bit useless, unless turned on for a longer time, and its keycard activated, so you can only turn it on once you are inside. Breakfast is okay as well, coktails at the bar are fine. Location is good, except for the tents right outside for registration and assembly before the activities, making it a bit crowdy, cause ton of boat rides are starting from there and its even a gathering point for some tours. That brings for one more flaw, all those boats make sea in front of the hotel smell like gasoline, so yoh will have to swim ~50M further up north in order to avoid it. Also, everything you need and most of things island has to offer is just a couple minutes away so you have a lot of choices. Make sure you bring an insect repellent, cause as evening falls, it can be a little buggy. All in all, not bad if you come just to relax, enjoy and...
