If you are looking for Japanese goodness on a new level with a warm, street vibe - this is a place to be!
Located on the 3rd floor of SM Megamallâs Fashion Hall - alongside other fancy restaurants on the block, Dohtonbori provides a unique okonomiyaki experience.
The service is very good. The staff is approachable, courteous, and ready to help - special mention to Jenny who assisted us in preparing and serving the food we ordered. The staff was also energetic when greeting the customers coming in and out of the establishment.
We have ordered the deluxe version of their okonomiyaki (a Japanese sort of pancake that consists of pork, beef strips, sliced squid, egg, flour, cabbage, onion leeks, bonito, and seaweed flakes, onion leeks; drizzled with special okonomiyaki sauce).
There is an important instruction on how to cook okonomiyaki - after setting the temperature of the griller to 190 - 3 flips should be done which will take 5 minutes on each flip to achieve the right texture and doneness of the dish.
In addition, we also ordered their version of pork katsudon (tasty and tender with just the right amount of sauce on top of soft, fluffy, Japanese rice) and their signature Dohtonboriâs okonomiyaki sushi rolls (perfect with wasabi and Japanese soy sauce).
The taste of the food is amazing! No kidding!
Aside from the fact that the setup and ambiance of the place felt like you are in a cozy restaurant in Japan!
I will try other Japanese treats and food offerings on their menu to experience what other unique tastes these dishes have to offer.

Read moreAmbience is good. It's actually the Demon Slayer decors that attracted me and my friend. Then they're playing classic anime songs which I love. Food is okay. BUT SERVICE IS BAD! First the waiters always avoid eye contact/looking at you when you raise your hand. Second, they served our ramen without chopsticks and before they paid attention to us raising our hands, our ramen has already gone cold. Then, after we gave our payment, a waiter said he'd buzzed out the plates and I was looking at my phone and before I could respond he already picked up the empty plates and utensils like he was really in a hurryâthe thing is I'm not done eating my food yet! There were still the yakiniku and the gyoza on our table! And he left those food but brought all utensils with him including the unused ones. Then another waiter came and asked if we're done with the food, despite seeing there's no more utensils on the table. I'm too tired and I know it'll be quite a scene if I tell them off so my friend and I just left. Horrible service. I wasn't able to eat everything I paid for coz they were in a hurry to clean up our table! I really wanted to scold them but my friend rather have us leave because I have anger issues and it could turn into an ugly scene. But they better not do this to their...
