Loved the service, the staff were accommodating and moves quickly. Food was amazing as always, my favorite dishes for this visit are the squid sisig and grilled scallops (I always order this). Also got to try the rellenong talong which was also good and a must-try. The sinigang na baboy wasn't for me maybe because I found it too sour but it was still good. Kuya J will always be my favorite Filipino cuisine restaurant 👌🏻 10/10 for all aspects!

Worst place to go to for dining wall on my vacation. A total of five in my family group eating right outside the restaurant. Waited five minutes for the waiter to arrive and the first thing he said to us was “Yes”? . What kind of intro is that for a waiter to be asking to a group of diners sitting down?. I looked at him and said to him what do you mean what or yes we would like to have some menus to order to eat. His response was “oh OK”. Ridiculous encounter with our waiter. After five minutes, we ordered our food. I proceeded to tell him that I would like a car of iced tea with plenty of ice in the tea. I also asked him to bring a carafe full of ice for my soft drink. He said he understood. It took 10 minutes because I timed it on my watch to get our drinks which I requested to get before our meal came. There was only a few people dining inside on one table and two people to my right what the hell Took so long???? To add insult to injury, he brought the carafe of iced tea with only two ice cubes in it when I specifically told him to fill it with as much as he could and fill it to the top with ice tea, he did not do this. Also, he brought me a small glass of ice when I specifically showed him and told him how much ice I needed with a carafe and not a small glass of ice. The same waiter took back our iced tea to correct it, but he forgot my glass of ice that I asked him to bring a carafe of ice and not a glass of ice. We were already frustrated at this point. Another 10 minutes passed by and our iced tea never came or or ice. I immediately stood up and asked for the manager. I met Mr. Bon. I complained to him how everything started from the beginning with complete errors and misunderstandings on their part not mine because I clarified it to them. He nonchalantly said I will talk to them after we finish dining. Why not correct them now and not well after we finish dining makes no sense. At this point, I told him we’re still waiting For our ice tea and ice. I went inside while the manager went to correct this and I asked the lady who took my ice tea glass why she didn’t bring me the ice and she said oh I forgot. What the hell is wrong with this restaurant and the people are they on drugs or what the owner of this restaurant whoever he may be needs to be informed of the horrible treatment and service that are given to customers here. Our food took about 30 minutes which I understand because it needs to be prepared well however when myBangus ala pobre came out with the purified vegetable, all I saw was tempura and no vegetables, except for one little string type of vegetable. The rest was just all temp, pure fried bread crumbs. The majority of my fish was a small fish shit the fish was not even half big. What the hell is this? My palabok was cold. Too much to complain here my rating is zero but unfortunately, I can only give a one rating. I will put this in my food block and I will never come to this place again horrible service lack of management poor management never again. I will put this in my food blog also, if you wanna contact me, contact me. I don’t know who the owner of this restaurant is, but if you knew what was going on, he should fire all of these people. Horrible. I will not recommend this restaurant. In fact I will post another block and another website and let them know how horrible this place is and I also read other reviews and they were just as horrible Negative reviews Negative reviews. This restaurant should care about it customers and especially if foreigners come to enjoy a good meal which this was...

"Pangit ng serbis." My companion, a healthcare professional who is also a foodie used to different sit down restos, whispered as the waiter turned his back on us.

The 4 of us sat on the table with only 2 tablemats and plates. Instead of bringing more, he stood at the outside front desk.

Even though he uses po, the way he talks is as if he is doing us a big favor, that he is annoyed and we are not welcome. Na parang utang na loob namin na kumain dito. He is the opposite of nice.

He almost bumped me (well nadikit lang) while I was on the way to our table and said nothing.

Nobody paid us attention to take our order so after a while, we called the only other person, the manager, and gave our orders.

Serving time is long.

We had Set A with squid sisig and bangus sinigang which were good, we liked them.

Rice feels like NFA.

Well we don't really expect such high quality here since their prices also seems lower now with value meals.

I asked for the featured dish outside I said yung grilled scallop promo tig 150. Manager said that it was mussels so I repeated, sige ok basta yung 150 na promo sa labas na poster. Lo and behold regular priced scallops arrived and we're charged 270 for 10. Kinda felt scammed.

Can't comment on chicken sisig as I did not taste it. It was supposed to come with free soup as shown in the menu, even appeared on the receipt, but none was served.

The service water has an unpleasant taste. Iced tea is not delicious, well like the cheap kind.

Good thing there are appetizers like crunchy cracklings, cold peanuts and makunat kamote chips.

Utensils have smudges on them that we had to wash them on their toilet sink (hand washing area is closed).

No table napkins or tissue on tables.

My companion said their toilet looks dirty so I did not dare open the lid but went to use Mall Cr outside instead.

Just when I thought Kuya J SM Lazaro has bad service, Lucky Chinatown was even worse. Of all Filipino restos, only this name does not disappoint and is consistent in dishing terrible experiences.

Maybe because it's understaffed (I only saw one waiter)? Maybe due to not being paid enough? I don't know.

I rarely, if ever, rate 1 star. I tend to be more lenient. But this is one of those deserving.

Filipino restaurants boast of hospitality, don't expect it...

Went in for the first time at the SM San Lazaro branch with my family, eight of us. The staff are rude, we have to ask for water multiple times, unfriendly and it seems like we are a discomfort to them. I did not understand that at all. The service was horrible, other than the danggit rice, food was okay, bulalao was so salty that I have to add water to it. Not coming back to this restaurant for sure. They might not want me back but it's totally okay. I wish and hope that the other branch is different. And, perhaps replace the staff? or perhaps they need training. It's customer service after all, and we're not even asking...
