It was our first time eating at Yabu so me and my brother were confused at the menu. There were no pictures and we were not familiar with the terms. Our server, Kuya Miko, was kind enough to explain everything to us. He explained all the items on the menu and even took out their old menu that contained the pictures so we'll have an idea how the food looks like. Placing the order was another hurdle. It's kinda like when you place an order at Ramen Nagi but more confusing because they only made use of letters. So if you're a first timer, you'd really get confused. Again, Kuya Miko came to the rescue and explained it to us while taking our orders simultaneously. Once our orders were placed, Kuya Miko went the extra mile and let us experience grinding the sesame seeds to make our own katsu sauce. He said that we really didn't have to since our orders were sauce-based. But since it's our first time at Yabu, we have to experience it. And I'm glad he did. 😊 The food was amazing! I had the menchi curry and it was really delicious! It was the best curry I've tasted so far. Each order comes with the main dish, miso soup, shredded cabbage and fruits. I was never a fan of miso soup after an unpleasant experience at Tokyo Tokyo. But the miso soup in Yabu was heavenly. It was so, so, so good! The shredded cabbage was really delicious after adding the white sauce (i forgot what it's called! 🤣). And the fruits were really fresh. One serving was so filling I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. 😁 On top of that, the sides and the rice are all unlimited. You can have as many refills as you can. I'm very satisfied with my first dining experience at Yabu. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I am so recommending this place. It's a bit expensive but it's worth it. You won't regret eating here. But make sure you're really hungry when you come here so you'll be able to finish everything. 😁

Yabu: House of Katsu in Robinsons Manila offers consistently delicious Japanese comfort food with generous portions, excellent service, and a cozy ambiance—perfect for casual dining or post-shopping meals. If you’re craving authentic Japanese katsu in the heart of Manila, Yabu: House of Katsu at Robinsons Place Ermita is a standout choice. Known for its signature Kurobuta Pork set, the restaurant delivers a satisfying crunch and tenderness in every bite. The pork cutlet is delicately breaded and served with unlimited rice, shredded cabbage, miso soup, and fresh fruits, making it a value-for-money meal that keeps diners coming back. šŸ“ Highlights from recent reviews: • Flavor & Quality: Guests rave about the Menchi curry, Mozzarella Katsu sticks, and Chicken Katsu. The pork tonkatsu is especially praised for its texture and taste, though some noted the flavor could be slightly bolder. • Service: Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive, often offering refills proactively. First-time diners are guided through the menu, and there’s even a fun DIY element—grinding sesame seeds to make your own katsu sauce. • Ambiance: The space is cozy but can feel tight during peak hours. • Value: Prices remain reasonable despite inflation, and the generous sides make it a great deal. The restaurant has maintained its quality over the years. šŸ“ Location & Hours: Ground Floor, Robinsons Place Manila, Ermita Open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Whether you’re a katsu connoisseur or just looking for a hearty meal after shopping, Yabu delivers a consistently enjoyable experience. If you go, don’t skip the Kurobuta Pork set—and come hungry, because the sides are unlimited.

If I can give zero stars, I would. Around 5pm on January 13, 2023, my sister went to Yabu House of Katsu, Robinsons Manila branch for an early dinner. She ordered Menchi katsu set but they served raw. She already ate parts of it before realizing it was raw. She immediately reported this to the waiter and they just said their sorry. They tried to replace it but she already lost her appetite after eating raw food Menchi katsu. Now, my sister is still experiencing severe loose stools, projectile vomiting, high grade fever and dehydration due to food poisoning. This is very unacceptable since it is both a safety and health issue. I have also been sending messages to yabu pages but to no avail. I will be posting this experience including pictures and videos to social media pages for awareness as well.

I recently dined at [Yabu Restaurant], and I must say, the service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was truly exceptional.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the host/hostess and promptly seated at a cozy table with a beautiful view. The server was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided helpful recommendations from the menu.

Throughout the meal, the service was prompt and efficient, with the server checking in regularly to ensure that everything was to my liking. Water glasses were always filled, and bread was replenished without having to ask.

Not only was the service outstanding, but the quality of the food was also top-notch. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were exquisite. It was evident that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and the menu had a great variety of options to suit different tastes.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also delightful. The decor was tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lighting was just right, and the background music added to the overall ambiance without being too loud.

The attention to detail and the level of professionalism displayed by the entire staff was truly commendable. I felt genuinely valued and well taken care of throughout my dining experience.

While the prices were on the higher side, the quality of the service, food, and overall experience made it worth every penny. I left [Yabu Restaurant] feeling completely satisfied and impressed.

In conclusion, [Yabu Restaurant] exceeded my expectations in terms of service, ambiance, and food quality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. I will definitely be returning and will be sure to recommend it to my...
