Torimomo — Restaurant in Manila

Today might be the worst experience I’ve had with Torimomo. I arrived at approximately 7pm and immediately placed my order. I was informed by the waiter who took my order that it will take 10-15 minutes of waiting time.

30 minutes later and my other order has yet to arrive (my coke and sushi were served after 5 minutes of ordering). By this point I’ve grown irritated as other customers’ food were already served to them even though I arrived first. I also noticed the manager glancing at my direction but made no effort to approach me.

5 more minutes of waiting before the waiter who took my order approached me once more to confirm if I already received all my orders (which either meant that they overlooked my order or the waiter forgot to put it up). I could hear the staff shouting “wala pa yung gyoza nya” and “oo kulang pa order nya”.

To summarize, it took 40 minutes for my order to be completed.

I wouldn’t rant like this if they apologize for the fiasco that happened. Japanese people are known to be courteous people and apologizes to their customers for even a minute of delay in their service. And while the staff are all Filipino, I expected them to at least practice this.

P.S. I’m giving them 2 stars as the manager explained what happened and apologized (Though this only happened because she noticed me filling up the customer...

Me and my mom went here today for lunch. I haven't seen my mom for 6 years so I want to treat her out for lunch. So we went to this restaurant and immediately ordered food. We were told that ramen is not available so took few minutes to figure out what to eat. Then when we were ready to place our order I ordered this kind of beef steak then the staff told me it’s not available. What?? Then we settled for 2 entreés which are kani salad and takoyaki then 2 mains which are beef gyudon and tonkatsu. After a couple of minutes our order came but it’s gyudon ONLY. I got confused. Why serve main meals first before entreé? I let it go then waited for the rest of the order. After 20mins the whole order came and my gyudon is COLD already. Entreés and mains were all served at the same time. Kani salad is not fresh. Salad greens are not crisp. Takoyaki felt like a microwaved meal from S&R. Tonaktsu is okay as per my mom. The servers don’t know what they are doing even the chef’s doesn’t know proper service or proper serving time of which food should come out first in the kitchen. What a shame. They ruin the whole experience and my time with my mom. For it’s price it should be better service and food wise. Definitely not coming back. Worst food experience.

Forgot to mention. Gyudon was overcooked. Meet was like a minced beef. Just have a look...

This place was just barely OK. The prices are slightly on the lower end..... for a reason. I didn't like this place. The portion sizes are small. Like really small. The Chicken Teriyaki was like the size of half of a small chicken breast cut into 6pcs with 3pc of long beans. The Sushi Roll (Rainbow Roll) was horrible I had to return it. To start of it was small. It was super dry like it was in the fridge for 3 days. The salmon & tuna used was small and really thin.. as in like literally a paper towel folded twice thick. The Ramen... well I did like the broth. The broth tasted good. The bad part was the noodles were slightly harder then what I'm used to. And the noodles were stuck together pretty good. You have to actually work to loosen up the noodles. I only tried this place because I've never had them and wanted to give them a try. I do not recommend this place.
