Buffet Review: Café Eight – Crimson Hotel Alabang
Café Eight offers a satisfying and well-curated international buffet with a strong Filipino and Japanese influence, perfect for casual diners and discerning palates alike.
🍽️ Food Selections
Filipino Favorites • Hearty local dishes are well-prepared and comforting, offering familiar flavors for those craving home-style cooking.
Japanese Station • Maki Rolls – Primarily California maki variations. Taste was average. • Japanese Noodle Soup – Choice of egg or soba noodles with a tonkotsu broth. Light and not too salty, with customizable toppings like tofu, naruto, nori, and chili for added flavor.
Carving Station • Beef Brisket – Served with two sauce options: • Red Wine with Herbs – Fragrant and pairs well with the tender meat. • Caldereta Sauce – Flavorful and rich, enhancing the already soft, melt-in-your-mouth beef. • Herb-Roasted Chicken – Moist, perfectly cooked with a gravy that’s just right.
Charcuterie & Cheese • Good quality salami and mild cheeses that are easy to eat – not overly aged, making it appealing to a wide audience.
Breads & Pasta • Assorted breads available. • Carbonara – Cooked upon request and fully customizable, a thoughtful touch for pasta lovers.
Salads & Fruits • Fresh selections available for vegetarians and health-conscious diners.
🍰 Desserts • An absolute highlight. • Halo-Halo, chocolate pastries, and various cakes were delightful. • Special mention to the leche flan – silky, rich, and addictive enough for a second serving.
☕ Inclusions • Buffet includes coffee and juices. • Sodas, wine, and alcoholic beverages are available at an additional cost.
Service Highlight Warm appreciation to the attentive and courteous staff: Sir Mark, Shenielyn, Rancurt, Irish, Regie, Raph, and Kim – their hospitality made the dining experience even more memorable.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ A delightful buffet with thoughtful selections, great service, and an inviting ambiance. Ideal for casual gatherings, family brunches, or hotel...

Overall: A 5-star hotel wouldn’t be complete without an equally exquisite buffet. Cafe Eight is Crimson Hotel Alabang’s hub for the international food offerings – best part, everything’s unlimited and you’ll get a breathtaking view of Alabang.
Churrasco-style Sunday Brunch Buffet (P2100) – Racks of different meats on skewers were present in the dining hall, and all those also came around individually to serve everyone. No need to get up and get it, it will be sliced and served fresh right in front of each table. Each cut is a delight as it falls down on our plate. That day’s winner is the lamb, bold and smooth, tasty and juicy.
Like most churrascarias in the metro, Cafe Eight also uses this double-sided coin system which we have to turn if we would want more meat, and when’s enough, turn back to ‘No, Thanks’. Cool. They have a pre-served selection of sauces. The chimichurri is a sure hit!
Cafe Eight regularly changes their highlight of cuisine. So far, the Churrasco-style theme is the best we’ve tried for carnivores like us. Their mainstay stations like Japanese, Ice Cream, Seafood, Bread, Cold Cuts and Cheese, Entrees, Salad, etc. deserves the recognition too. We love their ice creams! Our favorite is their pistachio ice cream topped with the chocolate fondue from the chocolate fountain (our very own recipe! haha!).
Their Cold Cuts and Cheese station needs a good spotlight, too! Every plate contains premium meats and cheese. Trust us, we can tell. Their selection of cheese is quite impressive. Not that much, but quality-wise, oh yes!

Value for money: Price can be hefty but if you’re a purist for buffets and pace really well, the quality meats and other stuffs are worth it.

Read moreWe had dinner last night with my family at Cafe' Eight and I can say that it was one of the worst or maybe the worst buffet I had in my entire life. P1750/head is really an overpriced buffet specially when you only have limited choices. Here are some points that I have noticed:
1)Japanese section- •They only have 2 types of sushi roll. The rice was already hard as an indication that it was not freshly rolled. •Salmon and Tuna Sashimi was sliced thick and uneven. Why? Because the person who sliced it was not even a professional. I remember someone asked if he can create a temaki for her and the guy slicing the sashimi said "Ay sorry po mam, di ko po alam. Di po kasi ako talaga dito"
2)Salad section - Nothing special
3)Italian section- The only thing I ate that was HOT.Someone will cook your requested pasta. Carbonara was good but the redsauce was blunt. The cook asked me what type of pasta do I like to which I replied with "Fettuccine please" and Voila. The cook grabbed penne pasta. Amazing right?
5)Dessert Section- This is the only section that I've enjoyed.
6)Bread Section- I haven't tried this section but my father-in-law said he enjoyed the bread.
BTW, We also asked for Tea. It was really goooooood.
Overall Experience: I still would not recommend this buffet. Why? •Overpriced •Cold...
