The Nest Dining in The Sky — Restaurant in Muntinlupa

The Nest is located inside the hotel Vivere Alabang at the very top. Is a fine dining restaurant that serves excellent service and excellent food. Dining here requires reservation. They do not accommodate walk-in guests.

The Nest offers a variety of food and drinks options as it also turns into a bar late at night. On our dining experience we were checked in which made reservations much easier compared to just reserving a table online.

Upon entering the restaurant one word comes to mind "Opulence" it really one of those places that treats their customers really well. One can't help feel like a VIP. The waiters are very welcoming almost everyone greets you upon entry and after dining. A good look to a well prepared team.

Tea options There are a variety of tea options that they offer you here at the Nest. The waiter even brings the tea options which adds to the prestige of dining here.

Nachos Con Carne The Nachos are a bit salty but surprisingly addictive to the taste perhaps due to the tasty mix of the con carne and sauce.

Gambas Ajillo The Gambas is decadent and savory. A very great way to start the dining experience with a mid level spice and scrumptous shrimps.

Calamares Quite bland on its own but paired with sauce it ups the level of taste.

Country Fried Chicken The Country Fried Chicken is crispy to the bite yet tender. Paired with fragrant fried rice and rich gravy everything comes to place.

BBQ Beef and Chicken A must try for those cookout lovers they offer a gourmet cooked meal that serves a bbq beef and bbq chicken in one plate served with white rice to emboldened the dish. It is one of the must try I recommend here at the nest.

Beef Salpicao The Beef Salpicao is a humble, simple dish but very tasteful. The beef is juicy not stucky or tough but cooked to that perfect bite of beef together with its rich savory soy based sauce, garlic and chillis. This perhaps is my fave go to dish here.

Herb Chicken This is not the actual name of the dish but its what one would remember a fragrant juicy chicken cooked with herbs and rosemary, with veggies on the side and a flavorful red rice. This chicken is very juicy not dry which is a plus point in my book. You can really taste the quality level of cooking in every bite.

Lamb Shank Its not the steak that entice me but this lamb shank dish that is very european in its presentation. I highly recommend this dish to those who wants to taste the best of the Nest, because with this dish one can say they really know what theyre doing. The Lamb falls of the bone, soft in texture and wow in your every bite. The vegetables are crisp and enriches the overall taste lf the dish. It is a caldereta which also means its a tomato stew in its basic elements. The sauce is rich and perfect for that bed of rice served on the side. This is the ultimate dish we had. a 10/10 dish here at the nest.

Lastly, the gising gising is a vegetable dish that is served spicy. The nest's gising gising is a very refreshing dish with that coconut cream taste with bagoong. I can feel the bicolano in me rejoicing.

Overall, the Nest gave us quite a dining experience that will not be the last. I highly recommend coming here on family or date...

Sorry but this is better than a 3, but not quite good enough for a 4.

Why is that so attention to detail is the issue.

I was disappointed at the setting especially the pool which had litter and rubbish inside it. Surely it cannot be that difficult to clean it.

Firstly you have to book in advance and pay a deposit of 750 php per person. Once the booking is confirmed they have parking for you, but it is not understand the hotel itself, but a surface parking opposite to the hotel.

On leaving the car park there is no clear direction to the hotel entrance - we went to the rear, which was padlocked and chained - not sure this was a good idea in case of evacuation.

There is free valet parking though if you want it - but they were not organised and a colleague waited for a while waiting for them to get themselves together.

Once inside there was a Christmas decoration and village - refer to images attached.

The restaurant itself is on the top floor overlooking - Laguna Bay onesie and Manila Bay the other.

PLEASE NOTE: Although you made a booking you are only allocated a limited time so not really good for groups.

The menu is very expensive and this becomes obvious when you get the dish example - Pumpkin soup - a small dish for 320php and 1 piece of bread.

The group had various dishes, but in the words of 1 of the group - It was not as expected.

Service was quite good and speedy but more so that they seem to want to rush you out.

We did not have coffee or sweet as we were close to our limited window - SO WE WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

We were not happy that they gave us the bill and did not remove our deposit - the staff wanted us to pay again and it was only down to my wife's persistence that it was eventually sorted - our spend was less than the deposit but was not offered a refund.

Washrooms were OK, however smaller than expected or required.

WOULD I RECOMMEND? For the views YES, value for money - NO - if you are in thr area possibly give it a go

WOULD I MAKE A SPECIAL JOURNEY? - No I would not.

WILL I RETURN? - No I will not - to some location i might take friends but after all the issues highlighted especially...
