A Culinary Gem in Panglao: Comoda Delivers Flavor and Freshness!
Stepping into Comoda Restaurant in Panglao was an absolute delight, and the meal itself was a testament to their dedication to fresh, flavorful cuisine. As you can see from the picture, the dishes are as aesthetically pleasing as they are delicious!
I had the pleasure of trying two of their standout offerings. The top dish, a savory rice creation topped with a perfectly fried egg and succulent chicken, was a symphony of textures and tastes. The rice was expertly seasoned, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. The vibrant side of corn, mixed vegetables, and a delightful purple cabbage slaw added a refreshing crunch and a burst of color to every bite. It's the kind of hearty yet refined dish that leaves you feeling satisfied and wanting more.
Equally impressive was the vibrant salad below it. This wasn't just any salad; it was a carefully curated bowl of crisp greens, tender grilled chicken, and a delightful medley of fresh ingredients including what appeared to be radishes, red onions, and perhaps some segments of citrus that added a surprising, zesty kick. The croutons provided a welcome crunch, and the light dressing allowed the natural flavors of the produce to shine. It was a perfect balance of healthy and indulgent, proving that a salad can be a truly exciting culinary experience. Comoda clearly prioritizes fresh, high-quality ingredients, and their culinary expertise is evident in every dish. The presentation is impeccable, hinting at the care and attention that goes into each plate. Beyond the food, the ambiance was welcoming and comfortable, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.
For anyone visiting Panglao looking for a meal that is both delicious and beautifully presented, Comoda Restaurant is an absolute must-try. I left feeling utterly impressed and already planning...
Read moreI was with my S.O. and we wanted to eat here because it was highly reviewed.
At that time, we were the only Filipino who dined in and the rest were foreigners.
We ordered the Yellow Auorora and The Hungry Caveman on their menu.
The Yellow Auorora was served around 30 minutes and we waited for our other order. I was really hungry that time and as I looked around, the other customers were served with The Hungry Caveman except for us.
We waited for around 50 minutes for the order and thought this was normal since they prepare good food, as I have tasted their Yellow Auorora and it was delicious. The food was worth the wait.
But have I not went to the comfort room downstairs, they would have not informed me that our second order is not available. It was around 50+ minutes that they decided to inform us that our second order is not available anymore. They calmly said that I should just change my order since it is not available anymore, mind you it was after 50+ minutes of wait.
It didn't feel right and comfortable to us anymore, contrary to the name it promotes.
We talked and I expressed that it was really a long wait before they informed us that our order is not available. They apologized. But they reasoned out more than they apologized, it was because of this and that.
A simple apology without any thing more would be alright with us but the more they reasoned, the more we felt that we had a fault towards the situation.
We walked away since we don't know to who we could express our heavy-heartedness, someone who would listen. Hence, I am writing this review.
It is a first for us to eat out at a fancy restaurant and unfortunately, we didn't have a...

We ordered few drinks, it all tastes good for us except the pancake that has icecream on top. We thought of like souffle pancake but it tasted like more of a casava. It's not soft, doesn't taste like a pancake, can be a pancake but maybe put into fridge and forgot to microwaved or something. We did not complain since maybe it's really it is since we were travelling to another place we thought that they might have a different way of the process. But for us, we don't like it. For the shaved ice, it was served bigger than expected. It tasted okay. Same as the usual shaved ice. The rest were good. Especially the drinks.
Their interior features Balinese-inspired designs and a thatched roof, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We went here around 12nn since we just dine from the front eatery but the place is airy since it's just an open cafe. The staff were attentive and friendly.
BTW, consider sharing meals, as servings can be large. Not sure with their WIFI we...
