We spent 2 nights in this hotel. ||Positives:||Location: easy walking distance to Alona Beach bars, restaurants and diving centres. ||Quiet: possible to get a good night’s sleep.||Cafe underneath: lovely cafe for breakfast/cake, super food and popular. ||Considerations: ||Room (number 1):||Our room was not serviced during our stay.||Bathroom - the shower did not work going hot/cold/lost power; issue with bugs in shower area both days ||Air conditioning - odd location right next to the bed so that if it is on it is directed at head height and one person. It does not circulate well and is uncomfortable for the person in the nearest bed. ||Security - no door or security between street and into hotel/directly to rooms. Anyone could come up from the street through doorway up steps and be directly outside our door. The front desk is not always manned. There are no security boxes/safes in the rooms and the front desk have no facilities to look after valuables including passports ||Communication: we booked this hotel based on reviews on a different website that complimented the staff’s helpfulness in booking a tour. We sadly did not have this experience. We understand this is an additional ask of a hotel but perhaps if it is not something they can help with then honest is the best policy.||After a detailed conversation with the manager our tour was booked for the incorrect time. We were ready for collection at 8am. After no collection we were told it was booked for 8:30 and it arrived some time between 8:45-9. We had explained that we wanted to book a private tour as we wanted to take a different route from the normal tour groups and the manager communicated this would be fine. The driver argued this throughout our whole day. He attempted to charge more for ‘waiting times’ at destinations and refused to take us to one of our destinations due to it not being on the normal ‘inland tour’. Disappointing due to paying a premium for a private driver, and communication had not taken place. We also had issues on our return journey to the port with the staff saying taxis did not exist in the area/no drivers were available/and then after much confusion placing us...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay at this budget friendly hotel! The location is excellent — just a 3-5-minute walk to Alona Beach and surrounded by plenty of convenient stores, fast food spots, casual dining restaurants, souvenir shops, and coffee shops. There’s a wide range of cuisine nearby too — from Korean, Chinese, and French to Italian, Filipino dishes, and more. Even laundry service is available at ₱60 per kilo outside Leux hotel, with next-day or same-day pickup depending on the drop off time. The staff, John, Jenelyn, Jojeleen, Ken were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Leux is very responsive with inquiry online. They also store luggages when you come in early/ before check in time. They ask for one thousand pesos deposit/ incidental deposit which is refundable upon check out as long as you keep the original receipt. Our room was spacious and clean, with 2 bottle of drinking water provided, toothbrushes, liquid soap, shampoo, towels, and an electric kettle provided. Fridge and microwave are not provided. and while bath towels were provided, there were no face or hand towels. There was also only one chair in the room, which made seating a bit limited. We did experience a blackout and had to wait for over an hour for power to return, but it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, a great value stay in a very convenient location. Would definitely...
