I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at one of your branches in Sm Moa Arena. I encountered issues that left me feeling dissatisfied.
I visited your branch to place a simple order, consisting of four items. However, upon receiving the receipt, I was shocked to see eight items listed. This was unexpected, as I had only ordered two wonton soup and two chaofan combo meal. When I asked the cashier, Jessa, about including drinks, she simply asked, "With drinks, ma'am?" Without specifying which type. Assuming these were standard drinks included in the combo, I agreed. She then asked for the flavor preference, which led me to believe it would be a straightforward choice.
However, I was surprised to find that instead of the typical iced tea or other standard drinks, the order included Wintermelon lemon tea, which added nearly a hundred pesos per drink to my bill. Jessa did not clarify that this would be an additional, premium item and failed to provide the proper information needed for me to make an informed choice.
When I brought up my concerns, Jessa's response was less than courteous. Rather than addressing my confusion or offering any clarification, she seemed irritated, suggesting that I should have reviewed the receipt more closely. I would have preferred to speak with a manager regarding this experience, but due to time constraints (as I was in a hurry to catch a bus with my fellow students), I decided against it.
I value Chowking as a brand, which is why I felt it necessary to reach out directly. I hope you can take this feedback seriously and consider additional training for your team on clear communication and customer interaction to prevent similar situations in the future.
