I think this is the ultimate way to feast on the dizzying array of treasures of the sea in the Philippines. Buy in the dampa wet market then paluto in a resto. The fact that the dampa prices here in hobbies plus the cooking charges of Ocean Bay are waaaay below those in our top tier Chinese restos in the city just adds to the sweetness of the dishes. What’s there not to love— the freshness and fatness of the bakla crab, bamboo lobster, halaan (Manila clam), ulang (river prawn), alupihang dagat (mantis shrimp), jumbo shrimp, live lapu can’t be beat. All then cooked well.
It’s hard to describe but for me there is a certain elation to be standing in the middle of the dampa market surrounded by so many kinds of seafood that’s mostly live. Fun is defined differently now for seniors...
Read moreWe got the food opposite to the restaurant for a decent price (after haggling a lot ofc) and cooked a variety of different dishes. Food was delicious but we only had issues with the shrimps as it wasn’t cleaned properly. When we notified the staff about it they took the shrimp tempura kept it on the table got a fresh batch of shrimps, cleaned and cooked it properly and then served us the new batch and took the old batch back in the kitchen. This showed that the restaurant is respectful towards their cooking and customers complaints. They also allowed me to go back into the kitchen to film the cooks...

You will get 2 bills:
one bill from the restaurant one bill from the seafood the restaurant bought..
For what ever reason they we're not together so confused me.. My final bill was just about 3000 peso which was fine considering the meal was pretty good however just something to keep aware of when coming here. Highly recommend though...
