We first tried Blake's Wings & Steaks in SM North Edsa before the pandemic (year 2019), and it was a pleasant surprise for us. We tried several times to eat here again, but they always had this long waiting line that deterred us until today. Finally, we braved the hunger and decided to wait in line. We got no. 36 at 12:44 p.m., was told that we would be the 13th group to be called if we were willing to wait. And we waited almost 45 minutes. Pros: As I mentioned earlier, Blake's left a good impression when we last ate here. The continuous long waiting line seems to indicate people keep on coming back despite the inconvenience of long wait. We loved the free refillable fish crackers and homemade vinegar they gave us to munch on while waiting for our orders. They're delicious! And they refill without being asked. The Blake's signature ribs are delicious fall-off-the-bone recipes, but you would get cloyed by it fast. Generous servings of the ribs and the carrots and corns. The mozzarella sticks and its tomato salsa are satisfying. Big servings of the mozzarella sticks compare to most restaurants we tried it. Crispy on the outside, but gooey on the outside, you can literally stretch the mozzarella cheese. The Truffle Mac and Cheese are creamy and nice. Although we did not order it this time, we remembered liking the chicken wings parmesan cheese and also the molten lava cake. Despite the long lines, everything seems to be very organized. The staff are all efficient in assisting and very accommodating and helpful. Better ambiance than the restaurant beside it catering to the same market.
Cons: Bring a lot of patience. It's going to be a long wait. Long wait to be seated and another wait for the food to be served. I was very disappointed by the porterhouse steak. It's so tough! Can't even cut it with the very sharp knife they provided. Too bad because the pepper mushroom gravy and the mashed potatoes are really tasty. The tough meat was just chewed on and spat out by my son. And you wouldn't want that in an expensive cut of meat. Prices are not budget friendly, but they are almost always warranted.
Tips: If your group is not there when they call your number, you will be placed at the back of the line again. Your group has to be complete in order to be seated (as explicitly stated in their signage). If you're having a steak, don't forget to ask for the steak sauce bottle without...
Read moreA Memorable Meal at Blake's Wings & Steak.
I recently visited Blake's Wings & Steak at Trinoma during my vacation in the Philippines, and it was a great place to enjoy a casual meal with my cousins. We ordered a variety of dishes, and overall, the experience was enjoyable with a few mixed elements.
First, we started with their nachos—crispy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. It was a great starter to share among us. The chicken wings were a highlight, especially the BBQ and truffle flavors. Both were cooked perfectly, with the truffle wings offering a unique twist that was surprisingly delicious.
We also tried their steak, which was cooked to our liking and paired perfectly with their unlimited iced tea—a refreshing treat that made the meal even more enjoyable.
The carbonara was not the traditional Italian version, but it had a creamy and rich flavor that was still satisfying, though not for those looking for authenticity. The grilled vegetables, while a healthy addition to the meal, unfortunately didn’t quite have the distinct smokey flavor we expected from a "grilled" dish.
All in all, Blake's Wings & Steak is a solid spot for wings and comfort food. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was great for family gatherings. With a few minor adjustments to some of their dishes, it could easily be a five-star experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the...
Read moreHad our first time eating at Blake’s and now we get the hype why there’s always a long queue. Went there at 2pm and we were still queued for about ~15mins. Their ribs were truly fall-off-the-bone, juicy and fairly priced. It also had a generous side of corn and carrots. Steaks were of good cut even though it’s much cheaper compared to other restaurants and the doneness we requested was executed properly. Their own version of Hot Sauce was the bomb, it added an extra kick in our food. I hope they do sell this.
‼️the only not good thing is that they allow this “marketing scheme” on their place where a known hotel offers a free raffle coupon, of course in exchange of your personal information. We’ve read this “scam” where people received calls saying they won a free stay at their hotel in exchange of you lending your time to hear their sales pitch for 90 minutes and doing some hard sales talk. I initially said “no” politely but the representative raised her voice “free raffle ticket yan ma’am, wala kayo kailangan bayaran”. So the introvert in us, instead of drawing attention to others, just filled up the raffle coupon with fake information. I will update this review if we dine in next time and we will be comfortable eating at their restaurant with no one causing...
