Goto Tendon Scout Borromeo — Restaurant in Quezon City

Before diving back into the workweek, Gela, Ron, and I decided to grab a bite at Goto Tendon, a spot we've heard about and were craving some pares and goto. The place was spacious and well-lit, setting a welcoming tone for our meal.

We ordered the following:

1. Goto Tendon - Large (₱258) In terms of portion size, it definitely fills up one to two people. Both the tendon and tripe were cooked perfectly, with a hint of zestiness from the added calamansi. The broth itself was flavorful enough; no need to add soy sauce for an extra punch of umami - but you may do so if you want more.

Note: Packed Chicharon bits are included to add to the dish or munch on your way home.

2. Sizzling Beef Tendon Pares (₱268) Served sizzling, as the name suggests, the beef tendon was well-seasoned and perfectly coated with sauce, providing a satisfying bite with each mouthful of rice. Gela wished the offered chili garlic had a bit more kick to it.

3. Sizzling Burger Steak (₱338) The burger steak was juicy, tender, and worth indulging in, as Ron even ordered an extra serving of rice to finish it all. However, Ron felt that the price was slightly higher than what he would prefer to pay.

Overall, Goto Tendon managed to satisfy all our cravings with minimal complaints. Indulging in their dishes felt a bit sinful, but as they say, tendon is rich in collagen, so it's good for the skin at...

Food was yummy! The kitchen was pretty fast and service was also very quick. We ordered pares (of course), sizzling tendon, sizzling burger steak, binagoogan, marrow, spamsilog, and pares mami. May onting ganit yung burger but it was a pretty satisfying meal. The sizzling tendon was new to me, I haven't tasted anything like that before, and I really liked it! The binagoongan was okay, we'll order it again for next time. The pares mami was yummy but had a bit of an "instant" taste. Spamsilog was spamsilog hehe nothing special. The pares, sad to say, is not for me. Malapot yung sauce, but I was raised on Jonas Pares' more stew-like sauce. I know this one is some people's favorite naman though 🤭 the marrow was sooo sinful (in a good way hehe) it was very tasty.

We were quite pleased with the food and the experience. We decided to try their Goto Tendon and paired it with the classic Tokwa't Baboy. The Goto Tendon was flavorful, with the rich, hearty broth perfectly complementing the tender tendon. The rice porridge was cooked just right, with a comforting, smooth texture that made each bite satisfying.

The Tokwa't Baboy was a great addition to the meal, providing a nice balance of textures and flavors. The crispy tofu and pork were paired with their special vinegar plus green chili and onion tied everything together wonderfully.

The portions were generous, and the food arrived fresh and warm. Parking is a bit of a challenge. While there’s always room for improvement, overall, we had a delightful meal. We'll...
