I'm writing to express our disappointment regarding our wedding at your restaurant on July 29, 2023. While we had initially held your establishment in high regard, our experience left much to be desired. Our journey with your restaurant began with a positive food tasting, which convinced us to make a reservation for 40 guests, despite being aware that food tastings were typically offered for larger groups. To secure our date, we willingly paid a 5,000-peso down payment. In the weeks leading up to our reception, we engaged in communication to express our preferences and finalize the menu. We also appreciated your staff's proactive approach in confirming event details, including their assurance that the final menu we sent would be sufficient for our 40 guests. However, our reception had a few unexpected issues that left us a bit surprised. Firstly, we were charged an extra 500 pesos for electricity because of the sound system crew, which wasn't a big deal, but it was a surprise since we hadn't been told about it beforehand. Additionally, there was a minor confusion when two different staff members asked us about the person we had spoken to regarding setting up the TV. It was a bit puzzling and indicated some lack of coordination among the staff. The most significant letdown was the shortage of food. Despite confirming the guest count and a consumable budget of 35,000 pesos, approximately half of our 40 guests were unable to enjoy the meal. This shortage caused confusion and disappointment among our guests. Adding to the disappointment was a misunderstanding regarding dessert servings. Although we had requested split servings, dessert arrived in 20 plated servings, leading our guests to believe that each plate was meant for one person, not two. What compounds our disappointment is the fact that we haven't received any apologies for the inconvenience from the staff or the manager, even though half of the guests were unable to eat. We were particularly disheartened when one of the staff members insinuated that the lack of food was the guests' fault for asking for more food. We're sharing this feedback out of our deep disappointment, hoping that it will drive improvements for future guests. We appreciate your previous efforts in making our day special but urge you to take decisive steps to address these concerns. Your commitment to delivering exceptional experiences is vital for both your establishment and your guests. Thank you for taking the time to consider our feedback. We eagerly await your response in hopes of seeing meaningful...
Read moreThank you, Pandan Asian Cafe! We had a blast celebrating the christening of my son! Our family and friends are grateful and happy. 💙
Offhand, everything was coordinated by Sir Jojo (I believe the restaurant manager).
First, the reservation process was smooth. I talked to them via Viber, and they were able to answer my queries, and they even sent all my requested photo references because I cannot do an ocular since I just gave birth, and it helped me decide to finally book Pandan. Overall, they are very easy to talk with. Plus points also as they have a free food tasting (good for 2PAX) 1 week before the booked date so we can finalize our menu where you can order anything on the menu so you can finally decide.
Prior to the event day, I asked Sir Jojo if our cake supplier could directly deliver the cake to Pandan, and if Pandan could safely keep the cake because we can no longer take care of it as we will be busy at church, and they also happily accommodated.
Come event day, I was shocked that they made a mini setup for the cake, which I didn’t ask for because I was expecting the cake to just be placed on the cake stand by the backdrop supplier, but low and behold, they set it up nicely on the side, also away from the crowd, so it will be safe. I appreciate it so much.
During the “kainan” part already, of course we’re not able to nitty-gritty check everyone if they all have drinks and have other orders so I instructed Pandan to inform me first and wait for my go signal, and they did. Another plus point is that they didn’t take advantage of the orders, initially I only ordered 40 pax iced tea, and on visitors count, na lang the addtl. At first they counted addtl 14 orders and I said okay. Later on, they came to me again and honestly said, “Mam, 10 lang pala ang kulang natin hindi po 14.” Imagine that? ❤️
The food is very tasty and savory, especially the Fried Spring Rolls (my fave!) and the salmon; in fact, my nieces, who are not fond of eating fish, ate the salmon because it’s not “malansa” and was cooked nicely. The serving is also good because I ordered good for 60pax pero ang kain ng visitors namin akala mo 70pax but nabusog naman lahat and I just ordered konting additional.
With this experience, we will definitely go back and celebrate our occasions again at Pandan...
Read moreThis restaurant is an excellent choice for groups with diverse tastes. Their menu offers a wide variety of Southeast Asian dishes that are sure to satisfy. While some of our orders were served later than expected, it was understandable given that we visited on a busy occasion, Mother's Day. They also have valet service if ever you fall short for parking space.
The private room we booked was incredibly convenient and had a delightful ambiance. Additionally, their provision of a doorbell for orders and service requests made the experience even more seamless because we didn't have to constantly go in and out to make orders. The staff were highly accommodating and responsive, ensuring our needs were promptly addressed. Despite dining in on a hot summer day, the temperature inside the private room was quite the opposite as it was super cold due to the presence of 2 air conditioners inside. We even found ourselves needing to wear jackets to combat the chilly atmosphere.
While I found it a bit on the pricey side, the experience and service were top-notch. I would definitely return here whenever I'm craving comforting Asian cuisine.
P.S. If you plan on getting dessert, the mochi was a great experience too because they have their Asian...
