We ate here during a Thursday night, crowded by 7:30pm. Price for limited meat servings starts at PHP 280 (2 servings at a time). Unli pork and beef samgyupsal costs PHP 499; if you avail this promo, you can choose any 2 of the meat servings at a time (we only chose pork servings, daepae and herb samgyupsal). Their side dishes are: lettuce kimchi, tofu broth soup, greens in soy sauce, fried camote bits in honey sauce, dry(?) coleslaw, scrambled egg (cooked in pot) and grated cheddar cheese. All these are served in small amounts. Lettuce wraps serving have sliced garlic. You can also ask for rice.
Make sure to ask for a change of grills if oil gathers much to the side and/or if the top grill becomes blackened after a while. Always check the fuel and ask for additional coal if cooking slows a lot. Some meat servings are plated rather unnecessarily (daepae samgyupsal slices are rolled) and take longer to cook so make sure to prepare the meat for grilling immediately after serving.
If you are very conscious with sanitation, make sure to wipe with a clean tissue all metal utensils and especially plastic glasses before using. The bathrooms are so-so and the sink sometimes clogs because the built-in drain plug is loose.
As someone who has eaten in better samgyupsal places, this place will not suffice for a good food experience. Their menu is very limited and there aren't options for choosing side dishes (no leftover policy). Worth a try to see what kind of samgyupsal experience this...
Read moreOne of the oldest Eat all you can Korean style BBQ buffets. Same old style concept, nothing has changed through the years but there's no other choice in the Gateway area's new restaurant row. Not sure if the guards are aware of other Korean concepts in the area but we were pointed to Ali Mall which is quite a distance from where we parked at Gateway. So my review here would be to suggest changes to an old concept that we do not go anymore if we have a choice. Start serving some soup to start or in between meals. It will bot cost you that much. Offer new meats ( the pork neck was a welcome surprise for me although I saw it on my way to the toilet - after eating) I tried one slice and ut tasted awesome. Refill the sides fast and I am not sure if we were offered rice this time. Add more variety to the sides - squash flowers, there are these leaves on one of the hole-in-the- wall Korean Samgyup at Poblacion that tasted really good You still don't have bottomless iced tea although I remember giving a review about it for years. Your glass noodles felt so soft and have been recycled a thousand times Sorry, would add more later. Our meeting is about to start ** One thing first. Our meal costs almost 600 per head but the senior citizens cannot avail of the discounted rates and can only get a discount on the most expensive rates. ASK ABOUT THIS POLICY BEFORE YOU START BECAUSE OUR SENIORS IN THE GROUP FELT CHEATED...
