We recently visited this branch, expecting the same premium experience and service that typically comes with the location and the brand. While the food was excellent—as always with Lan Hot Pot, which we’ve enjoyed at your Greenhills branch—we were quite surprised by the atmosphere and service.
We were seated in an area where the air conditioning wasn’t working, which made our lunch quite uncomfortable. We tried to request a table transfer through one of the staff, but were advised to speak directly with the supervisor. Unfortunately, the female supervisor (na nakasimangot) seemed busy at the time and asked us to wait. We understand that things can get hectic during service, but what made the situation more difficult was the lack of warmth or acknowledgment from the staff, including the supervisor, who didn’t return to assist us and seemed visibly unapproachable throughout our stay.
Compared to our experience at the Greenhills branch—where the team was warm, attentive, and even checked in with us about our food—this visit felt quite impersonal. A small gesture or even a simple smile from the staff would’ve made a big difference, especially since the restaurant wasn’t full during our visit.
While we still love Lan Hot Pot’s food, the overall experience at this branch didn’t meet our expectations. We hope to see improvements in customer service at the BGC branch in the future, as it truly has the potential to deliver a premium dining experience in line with the Lan...
Read moreThere seems to be a disconnect between their social media staff and restaurant staff. We were looking forward to dine here to celebrate so I reserved a table a day before vis Facebook. Social media staff confirmed the reservation but upon arrival at the restaurant, they apparently have different rules (e.g. reservations are made days before etc.). There were lots of people complaining in front since many made reservations online but did not have a table.
Fortunately, we were seated after one hour. For food, selections are good but majority do not have labels so you have to guess what it is and what it is for. Meat is lean and good percentage of fat. Soup bases are good as well, perfect for the rainy weather. Ice cream is unlimited but everything is melted. Please invest in a higher quality freezer.
Downside is they were severely understaffed so sometimes there were no clean utensils, plates, and meats. So you really have to wait or keep on asking for refills.
If you have a toddler as well, they have minimal number of high chairs and it’s not the same high chair you see in other restaurants so it might be uncomfortable if the toddler is beyond 2 yrs old.
Overall, decent experience but needs a lot of improvement...
Read moreI ate here today with my in-laws. We didn't mind waiting, as it's understandable that many people want to try it on the weekend.
My in-laws loved the interior, which was a plus. I also want to commend one of the staff members in a dark blue polo with a pineapple logo for noticing me when another staff member didn't hear my softly spoken voice.
We ordered the combo hotpot, both the regular and spicy versions. A staff member helpfully suggested separating the spice so we could adjust the soup's spiciness to our liking.
Unfortunately, several issues arose:
The spice was not separated as promised, making the soup too spicy for my in-laws. Most of the ice cream in the freezer was melted. The "to be fried" food section lacked instructions indicating you could ask for assistance with frying the food. Iced tea was unavailable until later in the meal. My in-laws experienced stomachaches afterward, likely due to the overly spicy soup.
I also wish there was a diaper changing area in the comfort rooms.
My husband remarked, "Looks like this will be the first and last time we eat here."
As someone who suggested this place for my in-laws' enjoyment, I am greatly disappointed, as the reviews...
