Billy's American Restaurants Chmielna — Restaurant in Gdansk

We visited Gdansk and on our first evening here we wanted to make it special.

We chose Billy's America Restaurant to have our meal in.

I only wish now that we had read reviews on this company!! As after our disaster experience in here, I read through numerous reviews and they all stated poor quality food, burgers cold and not fully cooked, blood red inside!

Well, I did order a burger and my partner ordered a chicken dish. The meals came out, as we were gonna share and taste two different dishes, I cut my burger in half, to share.

The burger looked blood red🤮 I pulled some off with my fork and it was stone cold to frozen!

Called the waitress over and explained that I wasn't happy. They were only young kids serving, they didn't have a clue about customer service! In the end a manager came over, she wasn't much older!

They offered to cook this again!🤷‍♂️ At this stage I was not going to eat anything from their kitchen!

I am not a chef, but I know how uncool a burger and check that it's cooked properly and hot inside.

I refused to have my burger back, re cooked again. Who knows what they would do to it in the kitchen, for revenge on questioning their cooking😬🤦‍♂️

My partner ate her meal, which wasn't nothing special. Then after more chatting with the manager, they waived the whole bill and had to pay nothing.

When you read the very small print on their menu, they say they cook meat to rare condition!

Well we never saw this small print, it was extremely hidden! We was never told this by the waitress either!😡😡 This experience ruined our first night of our holiday!

I would not recommend eating at any of these restaurants! Wish I would of read...

Went to this restaurant due to reviews and this is an honest review of this evening. Myself and 3 children went here dir a birthday meal, we have been in gdansk a few times but never here as I like to go to traditional Polish restaurants. We were seated in Billy's and we ordered and I specifically asked that my steak was not pink ( i have a phobia abour it) and low and behold it came with blood coming out sent it back, re ordered and it never arrived my children had finished their meal and to be honest I did not want to eat on my own considering it was a birthday meal, spoke to the so called manager who just shrugged his shoulders and said do you want desert the children ordered and again wrong order when I challenged the manager he was indifferent allowed another table to shout I wanted something gor free which I did not and never said, I was pointing out good customer service. I have no problem paying a bill but in the years I have been coming to poland I have never come across such rude and indifferent staff or people. Its a very poor example of gdansk when managers and waitresses walk of when they make mistakes which can happen but hiw they deal with it is a different matter all rhat I can assume is because we are English speaking they do not like us as this is now the lasting impression I have of Billy's biased and rude and to write a negative review absolutely kills me as I love poland but this was the worst experience ever not even so much...

We had a delicious dinner at this restaurant. We started with an appetizer — deep-fried shrimp in beer batter with a very tasty garlic sauce! For the main course, we had spare ribs that were super tender and a classic cheeseburger. Both came with fries and a sauce on the side (we chose the spicy mayo — also very, very good!).

Our waiter, named Cuba, was very friendly, attentive, and always kept an eye on us. He noticed that my girlfriend and I had already finished our drinks before the main course arrived, and he asked (without us having to say anything) if we’d like new ones. Throughout the meal, he checked in to make sure everything was okay and that we were enjoying our food — and he seemed genuinely happy that we both finished everything on our plates. And no wonder — it was delicious!

All in all, there was a great atmosphere, tasty food, and excellent staff. Hardly anything to complain about. Big shout-out to our waiter for the evening — he did his job perfectly and made us feel really comfortable in the restaurant.
