Panorama — Restaurant in Gdansk

Do NOT recommend. Made a reservation two weeks in advance and said that it was my wife’s birthday and a special occasion. I even received an reminder from the restaurant the day of my reservation.. but when we arrived, and I said that I had a reservation and my name, the staff just looked around and pointed to the table right in an awkward corner next to the bar where we spent the entire time listening to staff giggle and talk and shuffle cutlery around.

Food was okay, but not up to par for the price they charge in my opinion.. and the decor was very plain and not at all like the pictures make it out to be. Quite underwhelming to be honest.

But the Service could not have been worse. Aside from coming over just to take our order (saying nothing to us except “what do you want to order?”) and dropping off our food and quickly walking away without saying a single word.. we never saw or spoke to or were checked on by any staff again for the 1+ hour we spent in the restaurant.

The restaurant had 4 staff working and there were only three other tables in the restaurant, and Nobody even bothered to check if our food was okay once.. (we were gonna ask for another lemon for my wife’s fish) or if we needed another drink (we both wanted another cocktail). And even after finishing our food, we had to wait ten minutes for someone to even notice us, just so that we could ask for the bill and end the experience.

Worst experience we’ve had at a restaurant in Gdańsk by far, which is just embarrassing considering they claim to be a fine dining restaurant and this is how they treat people choosing to come and spend money and celebrate a special occasion. Do not waste your time coming here. You...

Great view over Gdansk, and that's about it ... ?

Been to the restaurant on Saturday morning for few teas/coffees. Ordered mulled wine - "sorry, we don't have it anymore as it's no longer winter season". We proceeded with some "fancy" teas. Also ordered the "Deska Gdanska" which contains 4x20ml tasters of different vodkas for 49PLN. The teas shown in the brochure look lovely, but you don't get the same jar/presentation, so it was a bit frustrating to see them in standard mugs, looks like ordinary tea, rather than some "fancy" tea.

Deska Gdanska was good, after we finished I have paid quickly as there was lots of people arriving for what looked like funeral reception. I am quite annoyed now looking at the receipts and discovered that they charged me for larger version of "deska" which is 69PLN instead of 49PLN...

I know it could be a genuine mistake, but I find it really frustrating that these "mistakes" are happening in Poland quite frequently!

Anyway.... based on my experience, I'd only recommend to go there to see the views. If you order anything, please double-check...

Z wielkim rozczarowaniem mogę polecić jedynie widok. Restaurację odwiedziliśmy akurat kiedy była pusta. Muzyka grała na tyle głośno, że po kilku minutach bez naciągnia historii zaczęła boleć mnie głowa. Poprosiłem Panią z obsługi czy można ściszyć co uczyniła jednak z komentarzem "akurat usiedliście pod głośnikiem". Szanowni Państwo takie sytuacje można odbierać wedle własnego uznania. Jednym będzie za głośno innym nie jednak naprawdę było. Z doświadczenia wiem jednak, że gusta ani wybory gości nie podlegają komentarzom. Nie wiem też czy standardem w Państwa restauracji jest taki przeciąg, że powiewają lampy, dekoracje a nawet kartki na drzwiach. Było bardzo zimno na tyle zimno, że chciałbym siedzieć w kurtce jak Pani, która zajęła kolejny stolik - niestety miałem jedynie krótki rękaw. Być może to wina wysokości i otwartych okien ale odczucie jakby się siedziało na gołym dachu to wysoki dyskomfort. Do tego szczegóły drobne ale istotne jak zielona woda w kwiatkach tak bardzo, że aż można powiedzieć iż glony obrosły ścianki wazonu, trochę obpalcowane menue i za słabo wypolerowane sztućce. Jedzenie poprawne jednak bez szału z kategorii jadłem już lepsze ale też o wiele gorsze. Kelnerka też o wiele za szybko zabiera talerze ze stołu. Konsulotwaliśmy się czy chcę spróbować i "dokończyć" danie które wybrała osoba towarzysząca co chciałem zrobić po skończeniu tego co ja konsumowałem jednak ledwo po delikatnym odstawieniu talerza obok tak abym mógł go potem chwycić pojawiła się Pani by go zabrać. I tak za każdym razem, nie mijało nawet 30 sekund a talerz znikał ze stołu bez pytania. Nie zwróciliśmy Pani na to uwagi bo trochę to było śmieszne jednak warto by było ustandaryzować te kwestie by nie zabierać tak spod nosa. Widziałem w jaki sposób odpowiadają Państwo na komentarze więc nie chce by zabrzmiało to tak, że sugeruje teraz jakieś "oszukaństwo" z Państwa strony ale w karcie kawa ma pojemność 250ml a dostałem mikro wersję espresso plus melko i mam poważne wątpliwości czy łącznie była to podana ilość gdyż po dolaniu mleka nie było nawet pół filiżanki. Mają Państwo niesamowite warunki warto by było wykorzystać ten potencjał jednak ze zwróceniem większej uwagi na standardy obsługi plus porządek bo o ile szyba informuje, że jest myta wraz z budynkiem raz w roku o tyle woda w wazonie już nie a widać to niestety bardzo.
