Yesterday, my friend and I came to this place for dinner, we wanted to sit on the terrace, and the waiters told us to wait 5-10 minutes while they cleared the table. This was a little strange, since there were almost no visitors in the main aria, and not all the tables on the terrace were occupied, but they were not cleared. Anyway, we decided to wait, and after more than 15 minutes, I approached the waiter to ask if we could sit at a table, to which I heard that he needed two more minutes. When we were finally seated, in general the waiters always interested in whether to bring us some drinks and bring us a menu, but in this establishment, we sat for more than five minutes, the waiters were not interested in coming up to us and bringing us a menu, we didn't want to to tolerate it more and left… This is not the first time I wanted to go to this establishment, previously, I booked a table in advance on the terrace, and the girl who took my reservation said “if a large group of people does not reserve tables, then you can sit on the terrace”. Excuse me, I come in advance to reserve a seat that I like and which is currently free, to hear that if someone after me books, then I will not sit in my seat, then what is the point of the reservation? Yesterday, the situation made me understand that it is better not to come to this establishment, thanks for the spoiled...
Read moreAfter my last visit at Piwna47 I came to a conclusion that it should change its name to something that would suggest it’s a bit more posh than a “food and wine bar”. I visited this place in 2017, 2021 and 2025 and during my last visit I had an impression it’s some sort of gourmet restaurant with tiny portions and quite formal atmosphere. Back in 2017 and 2021 the food was reasonably priced, well presented, portions were good and the atmosphere was friendly and quite casual. Based on my previous experiences, I brought my two small children and a friend with a couple teenage children for a meal in August 2025. There was hardly anything on the menu under 60zł a plate. No children menu available, not to mention crayons or colouring books. A few people in our group ordered chicken on the bone. The meat was pink on the bone and my friend raised some concerns. The waitress wouldn’t acknowledge her comments, she said that’s how it’s served and that’s that. I think that should be mentioned at the stage of ordering as not everyone is prepared to eat raw chicken. It’s definitely not a “bar” anymore, it feels formal and upmarket and prices on the menu definitely reflect that. Food is lovely but the portions are minuscule. If you’re expecting casual dining- this is not the right...
Read moreLet’s start with the good news: the food was… decent. Nicely plated, flavors balanced, and the kind of portions that whisper “you’ll still be hungry later, but it’s okay because this is art.” Definitely on the upper end of the scale, but also not the gastronomic epiphany one might expect from a place boasting Michelin clout.
Yet, if you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to age gracefully between courses, this is your spot. I had time to scroll through all my vacation pics, learn basic Finnish, and mentally draft my memoirs while waiting for the main course.
The service was glacial, but not in a dramatic, “the tension is building” kind of way—more like “the waiter has entered a parallel dimension where time moves slower.” Friendly staff, to be fair, just operating in a universe where urgency has been outlawed.
Come for the food, stay because you literally have no other option.
Would I come again? Maybe—if I brought a tent...
