Ali Baba Kebab — Restaurant in Krakow

I came to Poland in large part to try Polish "cuisine", but have been consistently disappointed for the last 8-9 days. So I keep going for alternatives, like kebaps. This place exceeded every expectation. For starters, I wasn't even looking for food, but the smell drew me in. I took a minute to get a feel for the menu and then went to order. The gentleman who took my order was very helpful. He even double checked when I said I liked "very spicy" and suggested I get their "garlic sauce". I paid (20 zloty, barely $5 US) and stepped aside to wait. About 30 seconds later he called me back. I thought maybe my card got declined or something, but no, he was giving ME money back because I ordered a medium but he mistakenly charged me for a large. Then I got the kebap and I knew it was good. I took two quick bites, then wrapped it up, put it in my backpack and went back to my Airbnb. Twenty minutes later I actually got down to eating it and...it was perfect. So much beef/lamb, great garlic sauce, good veggies, and even the wrap was still (fairly) crispy after 20 minutes in my backpack. I simply could not be more impressed, especially for $4 US. Do not be fooled by the reviews, this guy does not listen to what you want at all, what we got was not what we ordered, food was 4/10 at best, I asked for a lamb kebab with salad and no sauce, I got a kebab with chips in it??? no salad and loads of garlic mayo??? My girlfriend asked for lamb meat and chips and got a disgrace of a portion, and when we asked for salad we were told they don’t do salad with meat and chips??? You are better off going somewhere else. Besides that he and his misses are miserable people, would never go back! Thanks for an awful dinner, I hope you are happy and enjoy the money Abdul, you’ve got all the grace and decorum of a dump truck reversing without any tyres on it, what a sad little life!

PS - I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and ate kebabs in multiple continents, this one is just poor, I do also like fine cuisine when the misses isn’t giving me ear ache, so tomorrow night is going to be an expensive night (she’s been nice tonight) Happy new...

I ordered a rollo, the biggest one, without tomato and onion, came earlier and order for later - I specifically ask for no tomato few times, cause I have an allergy. I came back for my order and I see that dude is doing my order with Tomatoes. I asked nicely to do it one more time because I can’t eat this cause a tomato already touch and was in my food. But Dude was very smartass and funny: ‘in ketchup you have tomato also’ - very smart person, good for you that you know that. But that was not the subject. He just take away tomato from this rollo for me and didn’t want to make a new one. I tried to explain that it’s dangerous for me because of my allergy!!!!! And tomato already was in my food!!! And first of all I ordered without!!!! The other worker said they will do it one more time, but the first one was so rude I just asked for my money back and go.
