EDITED
They changed their menu, introduced some very good food, brought back their standard lager, and now do some deals through the week. I'm glad they are still working on improving and it's certainly much better. I'll start coming back more often. The issues with opening times can be there still, but you can easily call and ask, the staff are honest in telling you when it's likely they may close earlier, or have other engagements.
I do like this place but it's getting a little frustrating and I don't like the direction they're going. A few years ago they had a lovely menu, and even good deals like two-for-one wheat beers on Mondays. Now the menu has very few good food options, and it doesn't feel worth it for the price. You can tell they are trying to push hard the sharing platters, but I rarely see anyone actually order it. The food isn't exactly 'bad'. But at almost 60zl for a portion of ribs I expect a truly slow-cooked texture and decent sauce. The barbecue sauce included tastes a bit cheap and generic, and the meat can be quite tough (there are cheaper options in Krakow where the meat just slides off the bone).
The beer options (which was the main drawing point) are getting a little worse as well. They dropped Marcowe completely in favour of the not as tasty Bursztynowe, which is annoying to me as it was my second favourite. In another strange twist the lezak, probably the nicest beer there, was reduced to being available only in the winter. They replaced it with Krakowski lager, but it's a bit flavourless in comparison. When it's 30 degrees outside lezak would be a perfect option to refresh yourself.
It's a struggle to go at the weekend now too, especially on a Saturday. They host a lot of events there on Saturdays, but don't always properly announce that or make you aware. So sometimes you'll turn up to find out that it's not actually possible to come in.
The staff are nice people, no faults to them at all, often there's a really lovely hostess on the floor to keep an eye on things and we never have issues on that level.
It's good when it's good, but each time we come it feels like more options are removed, or things degrade a little. Probably a good idea to work on replacing the old and used glasses too, a lot of chips and what look like teeth marks around the rims.
I still visit every once in a while, the beer is good and the style of the basement bar still holds up. But recently it's becoming less and...
Read moreThis restaurant is highly recommended. We are the group of choirs from Switzerland, who’s invited for the music festival in Poland. For our last night in Cracovie, we decided to eat in this restaurant BROWAR LUBICZ, we was 30 persons, and all of us are satisfied with their foods. I’ve ordered pork cheeks wasabi purée with buttered carrots, and it was excellent, the meat was so tender and melted in my mouth. And for dessert I’ve ordered hot chocolate lava cake, which is also delicious, it was not too sweet like I’ve wanted. We was served by Magdalena and Patryk, they were so nice, I’ve even ask to Patryk to charge my phone and he didn’t hesitate to accept it. We’ve spent a good night with a good ambiance, good food with good company. Highly recommended, thank you for this experience. Greetings from: Cercle Chorale de...
Read moreYesterday I’ve got into unbelievable situation with my husband. We often come to Browar Lubicz and suggest that place to everyone. However, yesterday when we came at 21:40 to the restaurant, we were waiting for the waiter around 5 minutes, who let us know that the restaurant will be closed in 15 minutes. I’ve checked on the google maps and the open hours on Monday from 7:30 to the midnight. What is the reason of saying “good evening” on the entrance, keep us waiting and let us know that that the restaurant should be closed 2 hours earlier? When we asked, why so, they couldn’t explain us the real reason of such decision. I am not sure if I would like to come more to that place, moreover I don’t want to recommend...
