Meat Fellas Smash Burgers & Ribs — Restaurant in Krakow

We decided to try this burger & steak place mainly because of the crazy high 4.9*rating. Honestly, we expected something really special, but the experience didn’t quite match that number. We ordered two burgers and two steaks. The burgers were okay, nothing bad, but also nothing that would wow you. The steaks, though, were a bit of a disappointment. Nobody even asked how we wanted them cooked—we had to say “medium” ourselves. In the end, parts of the steak were medium-well, and other parts were completely well-done and dry. Not what you hope for when you order a steak.

Later we found out the restaurant has only been open for about six months, yet already has over 500 reviews. That makes the 4.9* rating feel a bit suspicious - maybe boosted with discounts or fake reviews. It would explain why the place was mostly empty, both during our visit and every other time we walked past (we were staying in the same building).

Overall, the food isn’t terrible—if you’re nearby, it could still be worth giving it a shot. But in our opinion, it’s nowhere near a 4.9* experience. More like...

Avarage place, but bad experience overall. Prices of the burgers are ok between 30-40zl per smash burger, but we had a bad experience with the bill, they charged us 12 zloty for 2 sets of tap water (which usually is free of charge) and in the end what we got is just half a liter of water from the tap as in the picture. Let it sink in, 12 zloty for half liter of tap water. French Fries seasoning is ok, not my favorite but it's a personal view, the bad thing is that fries usually are brought in a basket with a sheet of paper to avoid direct contact and for hygiene, as shown in the picture there is no paper. Burger taste is ok, but it's not a smash burger, mine was pink inside which could lead to food poisoning since it's ground beef and not a steak. Full disclosure, they offer -15% off for reviews, but my rating is not affected by that. I am a burger enthusiast, I regularly grill at home. The burger I had here rivalled mine. I would have added caramelized onions and a bit more lettuce, but it was definitely in the top 10 restaurant burgers I’ve had, which is a tall feat.

I thought I would be disappointed by the onion rings based on their appearance, but they were really good with the suggested sauces as well. My only gripes are that the sauces are not included, and it feels a bit pricey — but not overly so. Came out to ~65 zloty for bacon burger, onion rings, and sauces. If you’re waiting for the bus I wouldn’t look any further. 4.5 stars, if they had draft beer and included...
