We stayed at this beautiful hotel the last week of September. What can I say about it apart from amazing!!!! From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out, we had a fantastic time. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were here to celebrate our 30th anniversary and when we got to our room we had a lovely letter and some beautiful chocolates waiting for us. The hotel is situated perfectly for exploring all of Kraków 5 minute walk to the Jewish quarter and 10 minute walk to the main square in the old town. You are also close to a train station which is fantastic if you are visiting the salt mines as there is a train that takes you to within a 5 minute walk of it and at about £5 return for 2 people much cheaper than a taxi. We had a standard double room, which was immaculately clean with wonderful modern furniture. The bed was super comfy, too. The bathroom was also lovely and clean with a nice shower, cleaned every day, and towels and bed linen changed every 3rd day unless you asked for it sooner. Breakfast was a standard continental, but you also have a menu with extra cooked things to order if you prefer ( I recommend the boiled eggs beautiful) my only gripe is there is only one coffee machine so when busy there is a queue for it. They also have a restaurant, but we didn't use it, so I can't comment, but I should imagine it's good. We organised our own trips beforehand, but reception staff can also book trips for you and obviously have great knowledge of the city. We also booked a taxi with reception to take us back to the airport, and wow, we were picked up in style in a beautiful Mercedes it certainly topped off our week here. All in all, we had a perfect week and can't thank all at the hotel enough. Definitely book this hotel you won't be...
Read moreThe good: Staff really friendly, polite and helpful a credit to the hotel.
Lovely view of castle and park from the window.
Two tram lines stop with in 5 minutes walk.
Location is excellent 10 minute easy walk to the castle and old town. Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants close by.
Breakfast was really nice with a wide selection.
The hotel has a selection of items you can borrow such as phone chargers for free.
Mattress supportiveness is good with no back ache issues.
The bad: The hotel advertised Aircon in rooms and whilst we could see a Aircon machine there was no controller present. When I enquired about this at reception I was told that some days it comes on and some it doesn’t. Based on my experience it seems that guests have no choice as to whether the Aircon is on or not or what temperature or speed the machine is set to.
The mattress has a waterproof cover to prevent damage from children wetting the bed however this made the mattress hot as it could not breathe.
We had to open the window to allow cooler air into the room as the Aircon was not working. However this meant that the noise from the exterior air conditioning condensers placed on the building roof could be heard in the room. As a result we slept poorly.
The tv has a usb and hdmi connection on the side however the tv wall mounting bracket blocked access to the hdmi so it was not possible to use a firestick on the tv.
It was a shame that I could only offer 3 stars on this occasion as I would have liked to award more. however, the main purpose of a hotel is to give you a good nights sleep and to leave you feeling refreshed for the day. Unfortunately on this occasion the hotel failed. If the Aircon and mattress cover issues can be fixed the score...
Read moreNice hotel with friendly staff but the rooms at the front are very noisy. The view over the park and Kazimierz is actually a busy dual carriageway with trams every few seconds and noisy motorbikes. Rooms are spacious but there is very little drawer space. The breakfast was a variety of hot and cold things: eggs to order, bacon, baked beans and some sort of sausage; lots of cold things: boiled eggs, cheese, ham, smoked salmon, pickles, etc; a variety of whole fresh fruits and sliced oranges and grapefruit; yogurts; cereals and muesli; croissants and cakes; a variety of juices ( not refrigerated, though) and tea, coffee and fizzy wine for those so inclined. Everything came on a cold plate, which was a big minus for the hot food as it was only lukewarm to start with. Couldn't get a table in the rather pricy restaurant but people said food was good if a bit "nouvelle cuisine" with small portions. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the main square and about 10 mins from the heart of the Jewish quarter. There is a bit of a walk to the nearest tram stop in both directions. Would only stay again if we could have a room at the back, but would probably rather choose something nearer the Old Town and in a...
