As a regular beer hound who can sniff out a good bar or pub for miles around, I found this Irish bar in Warsaw to be one of the best in the city, nah, even further afield...….. to be honest it was one of the best pubs I had drank in for a long, long time.
Was here a good couple of times during my few months staying in Warsaw. It seemed to be the place I always ended up! And although I did eventually get booted out one night for been a bit naughty, I still love the place...… The staff are friendly, most of them anyway, the patrons are a wild mix of youth and the very old, the pints are decent, and the craic is always on the go.
It is an "Irish" bar but has no Irish staff, or real connection to the old country, apart from the identikit Irish stuff one can find in any Orish pub anywhere in the world...….and of course the Guinness on tap. I would say what they lack here they more than make up in unfiltered "craic" and fun...….. might not be Irish but they certainly party like the Irish here.
Has live music, and a DJ banging out classics during the weekends...… both well worth hanging around for...…going on well into the night....and with most of the punters hitting the dance floor, young and old together having a good time.....
This place is a must for anyone wanting to spend a good rocking night in...
Read moreThe beer was tasty and there was a live musician on a Wednesday night. Although, Student Pub has a better selection at least half the price. (And no, I don't work for, nor am I associated with either establishment). The Irish Pub food taste like stones, was cold, and was over-priced. When we got the final bill and split it amongst friends, one friend had already left to go to the restroom so I just paid her portion. When my friend returned, unbeknownst to her that her part was covered, she asked for a bill. The waiter charged nearly 100zł additional, knowing that all that was left was a tip for service. But, since she asked in Polish, he assumed the rest of us would not catch the fact that he tried to slip her a hefty tip for himself. Then, when called-out, of course, he played dumb. I had to pull out the calculator! This place is dirty and boring. Shut it down and save the crowd from hepatitis. There's nothing worse to me than a place that can provide such crappy service (took at least 15 minutes to get a beer, and what, 30 minutes to get a saucer of cold, over-cooked fries, then you're going to flat-out try to cheat us.) Do Warszawa a favor and shut this place down. Stop trying to give a bad of the reputation of the Polish. Ladies and gentlemen, this place is not reflective, just the lowest end of...
Read moreMeh... I stopped here one evening for a beer. Most beers offered are Polish, not Irish. There was a band playing, but everyone was more interested in the World Cup. I didn't order food. The reason for my poor review is purely because of service. Upon arrival, we seated ourselves and ordered a beer relatively quickly. Went for a second beer and waited for almost a half hour, the bartender more interested in watching Fifa than serving. He served me the wrong beer twice. The second time I just accepted the beer because... I had been waiting so long, I figured I might as well have some beer than no beer. I offered him my card three times before walking away to my table figuring he'd track me down when he had a moment as it was a busy evening. Nope. I tried to pay again on the way out, but after waiting 20 additional minutes, I walked away. I feel kinda bad honestly, but also I got beer I didn't want and earnestly tried...
