Disappointment. Subpar service. Mediocre drinks. We visited Lane's on Sunday evening with my fiancée, while looking for a bar to wind down after our long travel to Warsaw. Right after we had sat down, a waitress approached us asking what we want to order. The cocktail menu at Lane's is quite long (including most of the classic cocktails I can think of) so we asked for more time to browse it and make up our minds. Nevertheless, only a few moments later, we had been approached hastily again by another waitress. Feeling rushed with our decision, we decided to go for two classics. My New York Sour arrived all mixed without any discernible red wine float that this drink is known for. As a matter of fact, the cocktail was completely dominated by rather unpleasant red wine, rather than the wine being just an additional tone as it should be. It neither looked nor tasted anything like a good New York Sour. Despite that, we tried to enjoy one of these rare opportunities to spend some time together with my fiancée without any distractions. This didn't last long as we were soon after approached in the middle of our conversation by one of the waitresses who asked us how are we enjoying our drinks (which would all be fine, but for the unfortunate timing). I just responded politely that "they're OK" and thanked her for coming, wanting to come back to our conversation. However, the waitress apparently didn't appreciate it and replied in an unfortunately frustrated tone: "Cocktails are just OK?". This left us completely perplexed, as we're not used to this kind of attitude in (apparently) 5-star hotel bars. I ignored it and thanked her again to avoid any further disturbance of our evening. Later on we were approached again three times just to be asked every time if we want another drink or just to pay, all while we were still finishing the drinks we've previously ordered. On the third occasion, I just decided to pay, and we left for another venue. To put things in the context: we arrived at Lane's 3h before its closing time, stayed there for ca. 1h, and the bar was half-empty with no later reservation for our table, so I have a hard time understanding what could warrant this kind of disruptive service. Drinks were on the overpriced side of the spectrum for what they were in comparison to other similar hotel bars in Warsaw. All in all, these factors amounted to an unfortunately regrettable experience at Lane's...
Read moreWe were looking for a cocktail bar in Warsaw to relax and grab a few drinks while being surrounded by an amazing and opulent atmosphere. Lane’s is just that! Ignore any of the low reviews, this cocktail bar is simply perfection. Great bartenders who know how to mix up a drink, polite hostesses, great bites to eat, music at a perfect volume, and with a touch of luxury I’d except at a Bristol. People complaining about the price need to understand that this is not a corner pub, the prices will be elevated at a Gin Bar in a Bristol hotel. But if you appreciate quality, service, atmosphere and decor then this is a...
Znowu w szklance do whiskey dostałam 'coś'. Niestety znowu w tumblerze.
