Ulubiona — Restaurant in Warsaw

In principle they serve cheap vodka in here, however, be careful if you are tourists, as the guy tried ripping us off.

While there is a clear sign outside saying that the vodka shots are 2 zl (clear even for non-Polish speakers, it is even visible in one of the pictures), after we were charged 6 zl for 3 shots in the first round, we order a second one, and the guy insisted that we had to pay 9 zl this time. He justified it with some bullshit saying that they had a special promotion in the first vodka we ordered, because it was the vodka of the day. This is a vodka we chose pretty much randomly from a selection of about 40 vodkas in the wall, that was not highlighted at all or anything. In fact the second vodka we ordered was same brand, same series, just a different flavour (pineapple instead of orange), right next to the first one. After the talked to the guy about this and he realized the lie did not work with us, he did not even have the decency to try and cover it as a joke, he just look amused at us, clearly implying the rip off. We paid for the second round, because in the end it was 3 zl extra, equivalent to 50 pence, so it was not worth getting into a long discussion, but left after that, as if we were going to pay 3 zl for the shot, we might as well pay it to someone who does not try ripping us off.

I guess he noticed how we mentioned right after the first round how cheap the vodka there was, and decided to do that...

My favourite place in the whole world. We came back here after one year and were welcomed warmly. Very easy to make friends, since the place is small and everybody is friendly. Also hard to invite your friends standing two steps away from you for shots, since you will going to drink those shots with you new friends at the bar. Definitely going...

Ulubiona. Miejsce o międzynarodowej sławie. To nie jest zwykły bar. Niczym Rzym, wszystkie drogi melanżu prowadzą do tego miejsca. Oaza alkoholu. Jedyne miejsce na świecie gdzie wszyscy ludzie są zgodni. Wszyscy są tam z jednego powodu. Szoty za dwa złote. Jest coś w tym prymitywnie pięknego. Przejście przez próg Ulubionej jest deklaracją: "nie chcę być trzeźwy". To nie jest miejsce do przesiadowania i delektowania się napojami alkoholowymi. Nie, to jest miejsce gdzie się łoi wódę. Szybko i efektywnie, bez skrupułów i wahania, zapominając o problemach życia codziennego. Ten bar jest do tego idealnie przystosowany. Niewielkie pomieszczenie zachęca i ponagla, by pić szybko, gdyż inni ludzie czekający na zewnątrz też chcą wejść. Reasumując, Ulubiona to bar, który spełnia swoją funkcję w stu procentach, niezastąpione i ponadczasowe miejsce, świątynia ostrego melanżu....
