Today, my boyfriend and I visited "Emili." We randomly picked a new Italian place and weren't disappointed.

I ordered a buffalo margherita, while he chose their special, "Emily Loves Cheese." It's been a while since I had such high-quality buffalo cheese; that pizza was a finger-licking experience due to its perfect balance of ingredients. Everything blended beautifully in my mouth. We also got a sauce for the crusts, which wasn't just mayonnaise. I suspect it was homemade due to its buttery and tangy taste with a hint of garlic, though that's just my guess.

My boyfriend's pizza had a green hue and a rich, smooth taste that was to die for. We wrapped up our dinner with a mouth-watering pistachio tiramisu and some cappuccino. The dessert hit the sweet spot, and the cappuccino was very decent—I love when it's served with a small foam design on top.

The interior is another point I'd like to applaud. I'm a visual person, and everything, from the cutlery to the toilet mirrors, was humble and classy at the same time.

The staff seemed a bit stressed; we were asked if everything was "all right" about five or six times, which was a bit much but understandable. No worries, ladies, everything was amazing! 🙂

The only downside was the lack of alcohol. I hope the owner gets an alcohol license soon; I'm sure once you do, your cocktails will rock Rynek. The non-alcoholic versions were quite varied and promising.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. I would never have expected to encounter discrimination in a place of this caliber, but unfortunately, I did. I requested a table on a Sunday when there were plenty of available slots, yet my request was rejected. Moments later, my girlfriend—who has a German name—requested a table for the exact same time and was immediately accommodated.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable and points to blatant bias in how reservations are handled. It’s disheartening to see such discriminatory practices, and it reflects poorly on the establishment. Everyone deserves equal treatment, regardless of their name or background.

Despite this, we went to the restaurant anyway. I truly hope the incident was a mistake, though I have my doubts. Be better next time. All the best.

First of all, my name is not Tyler, so you clearly don’t even know who made the reservation request. Secondly, there were plenty of other time slots available, which I would have been happy to accept. Instead, I received a call telling me that all slots were taken. You can try to justify this, but the situation truly feels off. And why wouldn’t you call if a slot became free?

That said, I appreciate the gestures made, but whoever handles the booking confirmations clearly needs to be addressed. I was only visiting Wrocław, so you won’t see me again—but I sincerely hope you treat other non-white guests better...
