TLDR: you’re close, don’t miss it. Truly great.

It was over 105° F when we sat, hardly an enjoyable atmosphere for a meal. But the oppressive heat was no match for the magic that ensued.

There’s only one thing on the menu for lunch. No thinking, as it should be. Your only question to answer is what beverage you’ll chase with.

Soon, out come fritters. Delightful - soft and light, good flavor, but really just a vehicle for the two delicious sauces that accompany. Then 3 more plates, baby potatoes in olive oil, fresh tomatoes and roasted peppers, and then the main show - sardines, grilled to perfection. They’ll show you how to filet the things if you’re unaware. Don’t be shy, it’s worth doing right. There’s fresh corn bread on the side to drip and soak the oils and load with juicy, oily bits of fish. Afterwards, Mackerel. Then, your call, more of either, until your bleeding heart is mended and full.

Ignore everything that currently distracts you, friend, you’re close. Proceed to sit and rest and enjoy a moment in time that...

Excellent fresh, tender fish cooked (grilled as well as battered and fried) to perfection. Fish included mackerel, horse mackerel, sardines, dourada. Accompaniments included seasoned tomatoes, potatoes, grilled pickled peppers, a seafood salad, seasoned carrots, fresh green salad. We also ordered wine and a delicious panna cotta dessert topped with freshly ground berry sauce. The ambience was mellow with the tune of fado of various Portuguese artists. Service was excellent, with the hostess and server checking if everything was going well and what else we would like. This 5-star experience at street food prices is very highly...

Recently I went to this place and it was a great surprise! The idea is an "All you can eat" place, but portuguese version, sardines and mackerel (traditional fish from Portugal) grilled with cooked potatoes, tomato salad and some "pickled peppers". It was AMAZING, super simple, but very well done!! And Also the workers were great, very kind! The dessert and drinks are not included in the price, but they're super ok prices. Super good food, I'm telling everyone to go there. 😃 Ps: I'm not a tourist, I know how to recognize good food! All you can eat ------ 13,50€ 500 ml jar of wine ------ 5€ Panna Cotta...

We tried this place today on a day trip to Coimbra. It was an "all you can eat" menu with grilled "a la brasa" or on coals : mackarel, horse makrel (caballa) and of course sardines "a la brasa" The starters were delicious: a combination of peppered salads that tasted pickled, potatoes, carrots, homemade corn bread, some friend flour pancake that I had to repeat, and tomato salad. You must also try the vino verde or "green wine" to accompany your meal. Definitely worth it. A 10/10 for service, atmosphere, food, frendliness and price. We will return.
