Me and my wife wanted to sit at a table under the umbrella, it happened to be a table for 4. The waiter made a joke about his boss punishing him if he lets us sit there so he moved us. After we ordered our starter and main course, a few minutes later the starter is brought to us. Then, a couple more minutes later the waiter brings out some bread and ham and looks at us in a funny way while asking “do you like?”. I ironically answered “yes but I didn’t order it”. I assume he was supposed to bring the bread and ham to the table before he took our order. Fast forward, the food was soggy, no napkins or cutlery was changed between meals, glasses were very dirty, drinks were not poured in the glass (for which I’m thankful for). The feeling we got when choosing this place for our first lunch in the Algarve was because it had a nice clean look from the outside, but the service and food left to be desired for. When being presented with the bill, the bread and ham, which were brought late and taken back, was on there (12€ total). I politely asked them to remove it.

I walked in for dinner because of the piri piri grilled chicken poster in front of the restaurant, which then wasn’t on the menu (lol). the first thing I received was some stale bread, moist crackers and dry olives, with butter in a mini plastic container you would find in any cheap hotel. there was also some unspecified dip. my fault for even touching that, would not make the same mistake again. the service was a bit slow for how empty the place was, but everyone was very nice. I ordered bacalhau à brás and a pastel de nata cake with ice cream. the presentation was a bit retro, but the food was actually good. also got a glass of white port wine, which was lovely. I paid around 38€ including tip, way too much for what I got, but whatever. is this an overpriced tourist trap? definitely. will you still get some decent food? sure. honestly, good for them for getting their coin, we should all know better than walking into restaurants in old town with giant posters of local food by now.

5 stars because I cant find anything to pick on. The food was great, we were seated very quickly, our drinks and order was taken and we were given food very quickly. One thing that really stood out is that normally we have an extra chair brought over since we are a family of 5, but this time we were given another table and 2 chairs. This was very pleasant. The staff was very friendly, especially the man who seated us and the waitress who were keen to talk to my 5 year old brother who was mesmerised by the lobsters in the tank. Once things got busy the owner arrived and what I liked is that he was working. He took immediate control and told the staff what to do when and where. We were given the bill very quickly, quicker than usual. We payed 78 euro for a 5 main courses and everyone was satisfied. The portions are of good size and of good value. Decent choice of wines and beers.

Lured in by the busy exterior atmosphere we were seated inside and forgotten about! 10 minutes before we were offered water and ordered wine. The Sauvignon was off so we were offered a replacement at the same price, apart from the dehydrated colour of a sample and slight aroma it was palatable. 10 more minutes and they took the food order. The enticing imagery of octopus which lured us in, didn’t appear on the menu! Still Monkfish skewer and Black pig grill should have done the trick! 45 minutes on and no food but the promise of finding out where it was…..sorry it will be 10-15 minutes! At this point we asked to pay for the wine and leave a promise of 2 minutes and apology it is August we are very busy, half the tables were empty (we now know why!) Five minutes on the food arrived. Monkfish quite good but the prawns on the skewer (not mentioned in description) had been bathed in salt! The chips were warmish at best. The Black pig was pink, undercooked and impossible to chew or cook. No genuine apology. No recompense just a learning curve, we paid and left! Give this a wide berth unless you have time to kill and potential issues with...

We’ve been here today and even though our waiter Adrian was an absolutely amazing server, he can’t change the customs of this restaurant. They charge you a variety of prices (between 3-10€) for the allegedly „free starter“ that they serve you without a comment in the beginning, without clarification that they will charge you. The Black Angus Steak was amazing, the salmon was a little disappointing in the serving. One Mini boiled potato, a poorly piece of carrott and some broccoli came with it. We communicated that it’s definitely not okay to trap tourists in hidden prices and unfortunately that encounter made the overall experience for us really disappointing. They cancelled the fee for the starter to please us, but unfortunately we won’t be coming back. We would have came back gladly if we didn’t feel betrayed by the dishonesty of the owner. You’d make ridiculous money if you were just listening to your customers & adjusting the points of critique. Adrian overall was amazing & we enjoyed to have him serve us, since he was very lovely &...
