Fukushima — Restaurant in Faro

Avoid like the plague! Evitem como uma praga! "Fukushima" is a good name for this restaurant, but "Chernobyl" would be a better choice. I don't understand how this hole has 4-star rating, it's impossible. We went there on October, 30. This restaurant left a terrible impression, and visiting this place led to terrible consequences. Was it better before? Was it sold and now is being managed by other people? Do not go there before you read my review. So we were on our holiday trip to Faro, and on our last evening felt like going to a sushi restaurant. I went online and chose this one for it's high rating and many 5 star reviews. We arrived there at around 19.00, and ordered our food and a bottle of wine. Here I must add, that we are from Lisbon, and we have many similar "à la carte" buffes, so we know how it works - you choose some menu items, they bring you what you order, and then you can order some more food from menu. So after some time they brought us our 1st order - a few fried shrimps, 2 pieces of cuttlefish, and sushi which looked nothing like on the picture. In some time we ordered some more food, because we were still hungry. This time we had to wait for a very long time. I understand why - at the door there was a line of people waiting to pick up their takeaway food and also UberEats and Glovo drivers - these were served first. Finally they brought us our salad and something else what looked not very attractive. We ate some and decided to wait for the rest of our food, then pay and leave. By that moment we already understood that our choice was wrong but seemed like there's nothing we could do about it. As time went by, the waiter came to us time after time apologizing and saying our food was on it's way. It's been almost 2 hours after we decided to leave still hungry and without waiting for the rest of our food. We said we are not satisfied with the service and the quality of food, and we would only pay for the bottle of wine. The woman who seemed to be the owner got from somewhere a piece of paper with the list of food we ordered, and looks like tried to explain to the waiter that they are about to cook it, which meant they never started. We paid for the wine and left. They said nothing, seems like they didn't even expect anyone to be happy with their service. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. After 3 AM that night I started to feel dizzy, then diarrhea hit, then I started vomiting. I spent the night at the hotel bathroom. I blame it on their salad with lots of suspicious sauce. My friend felt better, for he ate less of their salad, still he had diarrhea. The next day we had checkout and had to return to Lisbon. I still felt bad, but managed to make it to the train station. After some time on the train my friend started vomiting. Thank God there are toilets in every car. We came home almost dead, and were seriously thinking to call the emergency, but decided to wait till the next day's morning. In the morning things improved. Looks like a food poisoning symptoms. Avoid this terrible place...

It's not possible to give you 0 stars? You don't deserve even 1 star... I write in english so you can understant better... The service occurred day 8/12/22 and it was a shame. Our order take 2.30 hours (150 minutes) to be prepared to pick-up in your store in Faro. You only started to prepare my order when I entered in the restaurant to pick-up... and the restaurant was EMPTY... I waited more 35 minutes in the restaurant and the order it wasn't what I asked for... I was tricked because you didn't even told me that you were giving me all repeated pieces... I hope you don't fool anyone else. Your service is too...

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The sushi was the worst sushi I have ever had in my life. The rice in the rolls we ordered was soggy, gooey and disgusting. The fish was not fresh. The staff was unfriendly and didn’t explain anything about the menu and that you could order any item, which as it turns out didn’t matter because the food was so bad we couldn’t eat it anyway. We paid $37 for food we could not eat. We should have read the other reviews before dining. We would have never eaten here. DO...
