Can feel the strong bonding between the owner and the neighborhood, ppl coming in giving hugs and handshakes to him and another staff, even though we can't understand Portuguese, we can tell from their body language and facial expression, it's the passion and positive energy that brought people together, it's relationships that goes beyond and afar. This is the first restaurant we found after arriving in Faro, and it certainly deserves to be an honorable mention. Throughout our stay in Portugual for the past week and a bit, this has been by far the best Portuguese restaurant we've ever had, large portion, yet down to earth price for value, We've missed this restaurant so so so much more especially when we went to Porto and now at Lisbon. No competition whatsoever. Ranked no. 1 by our family of 4. Even though we couldn't speak Portuguese, but the staff and the chef were very helpful and friendly to explain what they have and explained very patiently to us what to expect and recommended us to try certain plates. One of the best dinner experiences we had in Portugal! Our lady server was so attentive and helpful, she took time to explain their menu and recommended their white whine sangria; which has to be the best sangria I’ve ever had. Also most delicious sweet potato fries I’ve ever tried in my life. No idea how they did it. But it’s a must try. The best though was the stuffed crab. We got the one last luckily. So much crab fresh flavour. Looking back at any crab I’ve had in North America they all tasted like nothing. If you love seafood and crab it’s a must try! Small Portuguese tasca with a good food, friendly service just outside Faro's touristic area. We went on a Saturday and they did not have meals, just tapas. We tried 4 or 5, all very good, but decided to go back in a weekday to try the meals. We had been there a few times now and had the daily specials, the bitoque, the fish, the black pork, all great.
