As a person with polish roots I was curious and my companions also were in the mood for a different taste. We chose to go for a Couvert, Kulebiak and Oscypek as starters. The Couvert had a great lard and the little pickled radishes were amazing 😋. The Kulebiak was also very tasty, the rootbeet soup could have been more intense in my opinion. But it was still very good, no minus here! Oscypek was very delicious, probably my favourite of those three. As main dishes we had pierogi with cheese, one with truffle butter the other one with black pork crumbles. As a polish I have high standards when it comes to pierogi. They were good, and I recommend to try them. I wasn't overwhelmed but that's also hard in my case. Both toppings were tasty and harmonized pretty well with the Pierogi. We had 2 amaretto sour cocktails, which were really good! We had a cake (made with dates) with a salty caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream scoop on top, that really was amazing!
The location is small but has a warm vibe and is very cozy. At first the service we were disappointed with the service because he was too harsh (friendliness is a must!) Later it got better and in the end we had a little small talk about the restaurant and the food. In the end I give 4 out of 5 Stars 1 ⭐ Minus for the rudiness in the beginning and the high pricing for relatively small portions.
Hope they learn for the future that kindness is one of the most important things in gastronomy. Wishing them all the best for the future! ...
Read moreA Must-Visit Polish gem in Portugal! It was my 4th time visiting Faro. I was a bit surprised seeing polish spot on the map so as a curious traveler, I decided to give it a try, and I must say, it turned out to be a great dining experience! The food was absolutely spectacular, especially the PIEROGI! 🥟 I never thought I'd find pierogi that could rival those I've had in Poland, but this restaurant proved me wrong. They were perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Never had a chance to eat pierogi with truffel gravy! It's unbelievable to find such authentic and delicious Polish food in Faro! The staff deserves a special mention as well. They were very kind and friendly. I can fully recommend this Polish restaurant to fellow travelers and locals alike. Whether you're a fan of Polish cuisine or simply looking to try something new and delightful, do not miss the opportunity to dine at...
Read moreDelicious food and excellent service! We ordered crispy mozzerella balls and red pepper salad as starters, octopus black spaghetti and mushroom sauerkraut pierogi as main, a bottle of pivate collection red wine, then finished with carrot cake and chocolate gateau with ice cream. Everything was cooked to perfection and served at just the right temperature. Both the waiting staff and the chef were courteous, helpful and clearly passionate about the food they cooked/served. Felt a bit sorry for them though as halfway through our meal, a group of 7 people arrived with 2 separate bookings for 4+2 and asked to be accommodated. It’s certainly a stressful situation for any restaurateur. In fact the mere presence of this large group of people has already disrupted the great ambience of this tranquil and cosy restaurant. The situation was resolved with diplomacy, that’s another thumbs up...
