Found this place a few months back and enjoyed the pizzas we ordered. Skip forward to today... We were seated and asked for recommendations on the best Carbonara and was informed spaghetti and traditional. Great we'll all have Carbonara... Three of those, one with Penne, One as suggested with Spaghetti and another with Fettuccine... we also asked if the garlic bread with cheese and bacon was good enough to share and ordered two between the three of us. We was asked if we would like it as a starter and one of our dining party said yes and then pasta to follow as a main. The helpful lady said she would repeat the order to us so there was no mistakes. All going well so far!
We were recognised by the gentleman who even moved our table into the shade when one become available. Really good! Now, this gentleman recognised us from the first time we went to this restaurant and said I recognise you two guys. He then went on to say... "You have put on some Flesh", I miss heard him and asked him what he had said and he said... "Flesh... F, L, E, S, H, Flesh!" and continued to say... "I didn't want to call you fat so I said flesh!" oh how my dining party wanted to get up and leave but we this was a treat for a friend and we caused no fuss. On to the order repeated to us so there were no mistakes.
We sat waiting for a very long time and we asked where the garlic breads were for starters... We were advised oh they are coming with the main... Not what was agreed or was repeated to us by the lady who took our order. So... we agreed at this point bring them with the main. It would seem the garlic breads had been completely forgotten as our mains arrived and we were handed spoons and had to ask for a knife and fork to eat our mains. Nearly half way into our mains, the gentleman arrived with a garlic bread.... one! Not the two we had ordered and we asked where the second one was... it was clear that the whole order had been messed up and that the garlic bread had indeed only been put to bake after we had asked about it as our starter.
We were then told, well if you wait and see if you still want it at the end of the meal, I can always order it for you then.
No, no, no, this is a total fail!
2x Garlic bread with cheese and bacon for a sharing starter between the three of us which arrived as one garlic bread with cheese and bacon half way through our mains is not what we ordered by quantity or by order of service... A sharing started follow by Carbonara mains.
Listen, the garlic bread with cheese and bacon was indeed beautiful and the one who got told they had put flesh on... me! ended up having a little piece and letting the other two diners enjoy what they had ordered.
Didn't feel comfortable eating after the initial comment about Flesh and not wanting to call you fat not long after being seated but ate and left.
Being honest, such a shame because the girl who served us on our first visit was lovely and from Trinidad and works next door now but I honestly won't be back here.
Insulting comments and completely messed up order isn't my idea (or any of the diners idea) of a relaxing Sunday lunch in which you pay a premium for service which was by quantity and order of service, served wrong with an item missing.
What could have a been good thing... ended on this note.
Food is delightful but service fell completely flat today and I was certainly not expecting the comment referring to my weight.
For us.... The 2nd and last time we will dine here as there are plenty of others restaurants who will provide better service and equally good food without the additional stress.
But... all the best for you business and this isn't to provide an all out attack on your restaurant however is just a realistic reflection of our second visit to your Pizzeria.
I urge people to still go here and check the place out and if you have a similar experience.... note it here, be honest and leave any insults and opinions out of your review and state facts and truths like I have.
This is merely my experience today...
Read moreWe stopped here for dinner one night in February and had an absolutely amazing experience. The staff were warm, charming, and genuinely funny, making us laugh several times throughout the meal. Their hospitality added to what was already an incredible dining experience.
The food was outstanding. We ordered the spaghetti carbonara, prepared in the classic style, and it was phenomenal. The frutti di mare pizza was packed with seafood and had a bold, savory, salty flavor that we loved. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, which was exceptional. While the portion was on the smaller side for the price (around 8 or 9 euros), the flavors were absolutely top-notch and of incredibly high quality.
It has been a couple of days since our visit, and we’re still talking about how great the meal was. Highly recommend stopping by—especially for that...
Read moreWe loved Pizzeria Bell’Antonio so much that we went twice during our short stay in Faro—and both times were incredible! The food is top-notch, with a great mix of classic Italian flavors and fresh ingredients. My absolute favorite was the squid ink spaghetti—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
We also tried the salmon, roasted octopus, and carbonara spaghetti—all of which were equally delicious and beautifully presented. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into every dish.
The staffs are friendly and attentive. A special thank you to “Alex”, our lovely beautiful waitress, who made both of our visits extra enjoyable with her kindness and great service.
If you’re in Faro, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be...
