Seven Cuts — Restaurant in Faro

Very long wait. Pork ribs were bad but beef is very nice. Making a reservation is probably best.

Had a reservation there so getting a table was easy, some people got turned away. They did not have the initial 2 choices we wanted. Even though they are in their specials category. The restaurant was full and very loud. We had to wait for about an hour and a half for the main course! The coke was warm but at least I got some ice... that all melted way before I got to eat. The BBQ ribs, even though it's their "special", seemed just like oven grilled ribs with Heinz BBQ sauce on top. Very dry and bland. The potatoes were soggy and sad. I usually finish the meal even if I don't particularly enjoy it, out of respect for the labour and the ingredients. But the potatoes were too bad and the pork too dry. From the positives: beef skewer with shrimp was very good. Even thought it was not medium like we ordered but rather rare. The staff is attentive and nice, everyone I spoke to was very sweet. Overall it was a weird experience, the lights went off like 3 times during the visit, maybe that accounts for the quality of my meal.

But despite all this I might still give this place another try to taste their stakes. I really hope they improve... at least the fries. Maybe I will fix my...

I'll kick off with a comment about some of the negative comments... I literally don't know what you're on about, or you just visited on a particularly bad day. 🤷🏿‍♂️

My experience was great!!

I arrived, didn't book. Not long at all after I arrived I was ushered over by Karlos (I think the owner) to a table looked like it was waiting for me, right in the middle of the restaurant, perfect, I could see the crowd, the bar and the kitchen, perfect spot.

Karlos, somehow mind read my drinks order, fantastic, the house red was spot on. Also a very charming and friendly man.

My order didn't take too long at all and was a very big portion. Just about managed to see it all away. And it was absolutely delicious! If I were a bigger guy I'd have more.

The service, wonderful and friendly despite how busy it was. Laura my waitress didn't miss a beat, kept me topped up and was anything but ott. The exact amount of attentiveness.

Looking at the reviews I think our visit must have been the chefs day off, sadly, it just didn't live upto expectations, whilst the service was good, the food was disappointing, the sauces in particular ( obviously lots of stock cubes and gravy thickening) were very salty and overpowered the ingredients, we had prawns to start, which weren't bad, but the sock heavy sauce ruined them, my partners main dish of grilled tiger prawns was good and well cooked, but the rice that accompanied the prawns was mushy, overcooked, cold and badly seasoned, (unediabIe)I had steak Portuguese style, I asked for medium, it was over cooked, the sauce was so thick, it was clearly gravy thickening as a result very salty, I'm surly sure the dish isn't a good representation of the style it should be cooked. The restaurant is big, the music was modern rock and 2 big TV showed football, for the staff benifit (i think). Im not sure what this restaurant wants to be, a sports bar steak house or a restaurant, there are lots to chose from in Faro, I would not go back, I'd try...
