Great food! Beware, after eating the local garlic bread (bolo da caco) here, you may never be fully satisfied with garlic bread at any other restaurant (speaking from experience)! It’s slightly crisp on the outside and oh so yummy inside.

Try the tuna steak and the lamb rack (order both medium-rare), great taste. The food is obviously not pre-made, which makes for a super taste and texture. Unfortunately, that makes the wait a bit on the long side. Also, the portions could be bigger, in particular the sides. I mentioned this to the waiter, and he seemed to appreciate the feedback very much - so maybe that’s fixed when you get there.

In the mean time, compensate with an extra bolo da caco, but save space for the...

Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the meal at this place even though the waiter was extremely nice and helpful. Clearly he tried his best. Regarding the dishes, garlic bread was ok, maybe not perfect but good enough. Grilled shrimps were really tasty. Unfortunately our main dishes were in my opinion far from perfection. We ordered well done steak, but received medium rare, after pointing it out the steak was re-cooked and it was slightly better, but still not well done. Other than that, the steak was pretty hard, even before re-cooking. Squids were a little gummy. All in all, it was a...

We joined friends who chose this place because they offer vegetarian and vegan options for my husband and me. I had the vegan stuffed red pepper which was served with salad and a side of fries. My lunch was very good - flavorful and a good sized portion. Our friends had similar plates, but with chicken or fish. My husband had a vegetarian mushroom risotto - also a good portion, but served without salad and potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Each lunch was about $13 Euro The weather was good so we enjoyed the outdoor seating and...

Wonderful place, extremely pleasant girl surviving the terrace. Calm street, great service. They have a sign they cater for vegetarians and vegans, that is amazing and rare for Madeira. We were a mixed group, ordered goat cheese with marmalade, grilled prawns, garlic bread, grilled squid, meat espetada, avocado salad, wine Galodoro (white), variety of Portuguese cheese. Every single dish was very tasty, 9 out of 10! And a cherry on top - they give a complimentary Madeira sweet wine at the end as a bonus!

In two words? "Perfect dinner" we had garlic bread, leek soup, halibut with mashed potatoes and beef espatada with fried maize. Everything was delicious (halibut has a tasty herb soup). We had a really good time. Waiter recommend us great white fruity wine. (On picture) We will come back, because service and food was better than i expected. Everybody who read this review go to try! Have a nice meal, food and service.

We were here during the week without a reservation, but luckily we got a table. We had shrimp (they were peeled which is great), sardines and halibut and creme brulee. The food was excellent, unfortunately we got hot water, it was hotter than the one I carried all day in my backpack, that's really not what I would expect. We wanted to come again on Sunday but they were closed.
