Restaurante O Litoral — Restaurant in Lagoa

The food (Seafood Rice) and drink (Morning Glory) were very good. However, the service was subpar. We were in the middle of our Seven Hanging Valleys Trial hike and stopped by for bathroom and food. It was 12:30 pm so it was getting busy. We were sat down but nobody handed us a menu, we had to ask them for one when they finally came to our table asking for our order. It turned into a 2 hour stay because we could not get someone to give us the bill. We had to ask 4 different times to multiple workers. We try our best to be nice but our first attempt at asking was met with attitude instructing us to stand on the side and wait for his colleague…so we sat down and waited. Everybody seemed to be ignoring us. We attempted a few more times and it seemed like there was no communication that we were trying to check out and leave. Finally we got the bill but the waitress left immediately before we could pay. We didn’t want to walk out without paying but it seemed they didn’t care for our money. For more than 15 minutes we were sitting in this restaurant and no one to take us an order, there are four waiters in restaurant and some of them just standing there. I asked one of waiter very politely and wished to be ordered because our small child was getting really tired. Unfortunately we got a very rude answer, something like another waiter will come to take us order. Again we wait for another 5 minutes and still no one is serving us, finally we decided to leave this restaurant. It is pity to see the restaurant running like this, I have no clues how these waiters split tables or choose their own customers to take orders, I can not judge the food, but the service they have provided is very disappointing. If you’re reading this review, you’re probably thinking of eating at O Litoral. If this is the case, turn around, get back in your car, and drive far far far away from here.

I’m writing this review over an hour after having ordered food at this place; I’d love to review the food, but I have no idea what it’s like, I’m still waiting. I’ve lived a fair few years and have eaten in a fair few countries, but I can confidently say I’ve never been any place with slower and less professional service than this place.
