Cafetaria Baluarte — Restaurant in Lagos

Best breakfast spot in Lagos for those who wish to really immerse themselves in the local culture of Portugal and break fast like the locals do. They have a wide selection of toasties, croissants and pastels which will make your mouth water, my personal recommendation would be the croissant with eggs sauce which was incredible. The place is also squeaky clean, and the staff are super lovely and welcoming, they make you feel right at home. We came here every morning we spent in Lagos (apart from one and only because it was closed) would definitely recommend it. Will be missed once...

Lovely pastries, we went because it's just over the road from the Spar supermercado and there were locals sitting outside. We went in and they had pastel de nata which, they said, were the best you could get. Some were ordered with coffees. Yes. They were very good indeed. Lovely traditional cafe, very friendly staff. Say obrigado and they will beam at you. ... went back for takeaway pastel de natas, even better than I remembered. Cash only! There's an ATM...

This is a nice and easy little restaurant— great for a simple breakfast. Nothing too fancy- gets the job done. Many pastries. The croissant was delicious and filling. Each time we have visited, it has been busy. The service is great and everyone is very kind and attentive. Highly recommended. If you sit inside, it can get pretty loud because of the person washing dishes. Don’t know if it’s still like that now but that’s how it was when...
