The food is decent, but not the service.

We stopped in for lunch after reading the good reviews. We ordered the onion ring tower and fish tacos. I’m highly allergic to bell peppers and always mention this, even if what I order isn’t said to contain them, since if my food even touches bell peppers I’ll be sick for the rest of the day, as well as the next day. I mentioned this to our waiter, along with mentioning that I can’t eat jalapeños, and he said there shouldn’t be any peppers in the tacos. Midway through eating, I discover green bits of what I assume are jalapeños in two out of three tacos, so I remove them (I’m not as allergic to jalapeños–bell peppers are the absolute worst for me). When the waiter comes to give us the bill, I mention there were jalapeños in my food, to which he says there weren’t, and he then pulls up a picture on his phone to show me what the green bits were. What do you know–he shows me a photo of a bell pepper. I tell him I told him I’m allergic (and he said there weren’t peppers in the tacos!). He apologizes. I say they should be more careful regarding his allergies. His response? “Sorry, but it’s not my fault.”. So yeah—in conclusion, the food was good, but I don’t recommend this place given the mishandling of food allergies and the couldn’t-care-less response.

Edited to respond: I didn’t say I was allergic to jalapeños (just asked for the tacos to be without jalapeños), but I did ask if there were peppers in the tacos and said that I was allergic to them (and the waiter did say there wouldn’t be peppers). If I wasn’t allergic, I wouldn’t have asked about peppers, seeing as they weren’t mentioned...

Amazing experience with great food and best service!

Made reservations for two on a Thursday night and ordered the Popcorn Prawns for an appetizer, the Australian and American fish and chips for mains and a few beers.

The Popcorn Prawns came out beautiful and were delicious. Not extremely greasy and the prawns were huge! Would definitely order this again.

At this point, an unavoidable issue arose as the power was out and the fryers were out of commission. We literally had the entire restaurant staff come over to apologize to us and gave us constant updates on the situation. Because of the delay in food service, the owner came by and let us know that the drinks and appetizers were on the house! A class act from the staff! We decided to continue having drinks while waiting for the power to come back, which it did not too long after.

We enjoyed the rest of our meal and the fish and chips came out exactly as we expected. Not heavily battered and very light! I would definitely order this again and come back if I am in Lagos again.

By the end of the meal and on our way out of the door, the owner (Mika) came to us and was extremely friendly by thanking us for our business and still apologizing for the power outage. We didn't mind at all given the amazing experience already had with the food and service. To top this all off, Mika poured shots of rum for the three of us on the house and made us feel very welcome on our vacation.

LOVE THIS PLACE. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE...

Best fish and chips ever, anywhere. The onion rings were also the nicest we've ever had - the secret is in their batter. The sides we tried, namely the coleslaw and the mushy peas, were both very good but, were we to choose one, the mushy peas would win hands down. Highly recommended but mind the large portions and remember fried food is as filling as it is satisfactory...! We'll definitely visit again.

EDIT: Already visited again, twice in a week! This time with more people and we focused on starters and cocktails. Everything was amazing. What I noticed is that I was a bit unfair in my review for not mentioning the service - it was both times among the friendliest, most helping service you can have. I really mean it! If I didn't mention it is probably because I was shocked by the ultra high quality food (I mean really, you don't know how good an onion ring can get until you don't try these ones). Thanks guys, you definitely made our stay great and yes, we will definitely...

We had been wanting to try the fish and chips here for weeks and were really looking forward to it. We arrived and ordered 2 pints of superbook which were flat and not very nice. We ordered one English and one American fish & chips. We thought the chips were going to be thicker hand cut chips like in England but instead they were thin like french fries which was disappointing. The fish was nice enough but we think it was frozen fish as both pieces were exactly the same size and shape although the batter was very tasty. They were served in wooden boxes with a paper liner, this made it awkward to eat the contents because the paper kept ripping when using the knife and fork, by the end of the meal the paper was wet and soggy and was mixed in with the food which meant we had to pick pieces of paper out of our food. Over all we were disappointed and will not be back.

VEGANS/VEGETARIANS: the vegan tacos are more expensive than the fish tacos and are a little bit bland In comparison to what the fish options taste like. Would recommend going elsewhere if you look for a vegetarian meal. (I am pescatarian but wanted a veggie option this time, not too exciting) HOWEVER - the fish was absolut delicious and smooth and buttery that my partner ordered. He got the Australian which was more than enough food and had a very fresh tasting coleslaw. We also ordered the jalapeño poppers which we could have skipped considering how big the meal is. A bit pricey (12.50 for fish and chips? 13.50 for veggie tacos?) All in all good but just want to let the veggies people know it’s not worth the 13 euros.
