This sushi is awful, the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve had sushi every where from Japan to Atlanta, and this was by far the worst. We ordered a combo plate, tuna roll, and gyoza. Here’s what went wrong:
The food: -We got the wrong gyoza, -the sashimi on the plate still had scales on it, and it was blow torched -the rice was dramatically undercooked, to where it was almost crunchy. -with such small, not fresh and mediocre portions, it’s unreasonably overpriced.
The service: The sushi sat ready for probably 15 minutes before it was served to us. We were one of 3 tables when it came out. It was not busy. the beer we ordered came halfway through the meal and was served in a wine glass??? the gyoza we ordered was not only wrong, but served to the wrong table. all of this may be attributed to understaffing which makes sense if it’s the case, but still awful.
The atmosphere: cool looking restaurant, pretty minimalist. But the “3 hours of low fi AI beats to study to” playlist blasting through the tv at full volume with ads every 10 minutes wasn’t great.
Overall, an awful experience and I think these...
Read moreKonnichiwa Ricardo!! Really disappointed with your sushi, service and restaurant. We came on a Monday night in November. Some may say it’s “winter” but it was the most beautiful day to have a great day in Lagos. Until we had the worst sushi and dining experience on vacation. We felt uncomfortable to the point of- get us out of here. Smelly and bad tasting tuna. No water. Had to ask for chopsticks. They were understaffed. (One chef?) 4 tables with no food for over an hour. Were we here to dine? Some may say no. A few decent bites of cucumber, sips of miso soup and a fried octopus ball. The salmon was delicious but how can that be the only thing to eat off an omakase menu? The chef was drowning and this restaurant needs to reconsider its priorities if it wants to survive. It’s a shame there’s so many good reviews to drive customers in....
Read moreStudio Satake Sushi & Ramen – absolutely worth a visit!
What can I say – Studio Satake has been open for about four or five weeks, and it’s already one of my favorite spots. The place is super cute and cozy, and our waiter (possibly the owner?) was incredibly friendly. You really feel like staying a while.
We went for the Satake Omakase Combo, which was the perfect choice. You put yourself in the hands of the chef, and it was totally worth it. I also had the Salmon & Philadelphia and Salmon Teriyaki – both were excellent, and I even re-ordered the first one because it was so good.
Good to know: Not everything on the menu is always available, but the staff will let you know what’s currently offered. Also, they only accept cash or Portuguese credit cards, so make sure to bring some cash with you.
A real gem for sushi lovers – highly recommended!
