I'm not sure what food everyone else was eating, but our food was flavorless. The calamari: It was very tough to chew, had no seasonings, tasted like it was frozen, breaded, fried, and served. Salty french toast: drenched in maple syrup. Burger: soggy and the meat was not fresh. Salmon mezze: comes with a poached egg that had ZERO seasoning. Finally, the thing that all families rave about and was the sole reason we came-- the playroom. DONT. It's located in the basement of the restaurant. You wont be able to eat with a decent ambiance around you. You'll just be eating your meal in a damp basement while the kids play in a closed off playroom. Oh, and the bathrooms. Mens bathroom was decorated with a lovely stick of men's aerosol deodorant. And the women's bathroom towel dispenser had a huge amount of fuzzy mold inside. Pictures attached. Anyway, if you go, good for you and best of luck. If you dont, thank the gods!

A.P.F. Café and Restaurant – A Cozy Culinary Delight in Portugal A.P.F. Café and Restaurant completely exceeded my expectations. Tucked away in a charming spot, it offers the perfect blend of cozy ambiance, friendly service, and food that truly speaks for itself. I ordered the lamb meatballs and steak fritters — both were absolutely delicious. The meatballs were tender and flavorful, and the steak was cooked to perfection with just the right crisp on the outside. My friend had the A.P.F. scrambled, and if you’re a fan of soft scrambled eggs, this dish is a dream. Fluffy, creamy, and seasoned just right. Everything was beautifully plated, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Whether you’re popping in for brunch or settling in for a longer meal, this place makes you feel right at home. A.P.F. is a must-visit if you’re in Portugal — I’ll definitely be back!

This is a lovely little cafe / restaurant that offers some great food at very reasonable prices. The menu has plenty for everyone, with gluten free and vegetarian options clearly called out in the menu. The staff were very friendly. I had the Burger, which was totally amazing. You could tell this was a handmade, pure beef patty that was cooked to perfection. It came fully loaded with bacon, cheese, pickled red onion and crisp lettuce. Delicious! My wife had the roasted salmon with Bok Choy, black rice and coconut curry sauce. She loved every mouthful. Totally recommended to anyone looking for great quality informal dining.

Sounds good but not to recommend

Good things first: we arieved without a reservation on a thursday evening and still got seated. Having 3 kids, we are familiar with Familie friendly Restaurants.

After getting a warm welcome, we were suprised that the kids Arena (which is at the Center of the adds) is in the basement and not free of Charge but would have been billed with 5 € per kid for the remaiming 40 minutes (which is more than we get charged on a 2000 qm professionelle playground in germany - and it does not seem to be very clean considering other posts).

Besides the burgers, the main dishes were far below what we have experienced in lissabon so far. The pat Thai tasted like maggi and the pasta tasted like cheap regular Pesto and I had hair in it.

All in all, price quality ratio is make you feel punked. Besides: dead bugs were an the wall.

Sorry, but...
